If you owned a business and knew you were not going to get the contract renewal in one year wouldn't you only do the bare minimum of the remaining contract? Why spend one dollar more ?

So I expect them to liquidate inventory and do the bare minimum this year. And maybe that bare minimum is still pretty good.

Seems to me, once they decided to get out of the game a couple years ago, they were in bare-minimum mode. Which is pretty shameful IMHO.

Honestly, if they knew they didn't want to move forward, they should've been willing to work with the new supplier to facilitate a quicker changeover so as to lessen their expenses. That's not unheard of in some industries.

The worst looking unis GT ever wore were 2008 and 2009. They were even worse than Pepper's last year in unis that did not match and the team looked like the Foreign Legion.

That is probably not an official rendering, rather someone's speculation of what our new partner might offer. But it is UGLY. no one wants to see any of that CHEDDAR CRAP.
All of those mock ups are horrible. Do not need "Georgia Tech", "GT", "JACKETS", OR "YELLOW JACKETS" on the front. All unis that have that are awful except maybe okie.

What do you guys think Russell will do for the football uniforms in 2017? Will they do what they should have done a long time ago and go all out to make it a last year to remember or will they just mail it in and piece together crap for Tech to wear?

I expect us to use a variety of different jerseys we've worn over the past few years with no new designs. It only makes logical sense.

Since some may not be able to access MyAJC articles, I will paste the entire article here. It's pretty interesting. Glad to see somebody is finally addressing this ---

Georgia Tech’s new partnership with Adidas already has at least one project underway – selecting one shade of gold that can be used consistently on uniforms, fan apparel and graphics.

Athletic director Todd Stansbury said that Tech staff and designers from Adidas are in the process of choosing between 20 and 30 shades of gold. He said the decision will come soon.

“From a merchandise standpoint, you have to get that (color) down,” he said. “Because if we have a gold-out, who knows how many different shades of gold and yellow will show up to that game?”

Stansbury said that the new gold will be called “Ramblin’ Wreck gold.”

Part of Tech’s challenge in this realm has been that, while old gold and white are the school’s official colors, the school also gives licensing approval for other shades of yellow and gold for different uses, which is how the Tech bookstore can sell apparel with varying hues. This has been known to cause irritation among certain pockets of the alumni.

How Georgia Tech and Adidas came together

Another layer of difficulty is that one shade of color might appear different on football pants or a jersey than it does on a helmet, as they’re made of different materials and reflect light differently.

The shade that Stansbury selects will not replace old gold as an official school color, but will be the one that the athletic department uses.

Regardless, uniformity is the goal. It has been a process that Stansbury has led, not just with color but also logos, fonts and other means of branding.

“We’re not going to touch the ‘GT,’ but we’re going to make sure that the ‘GT’ you see is the same every single time,” Stansbury said in his July podcast.

Adidas has already brought in its “identity team” to participate, said Jim Murphy, the Adidas sports marketing director for the NCAA.

Schultz: Tech gains apparel deal, loses a star, but Johnson says team will be fine

“The same group that goes in and does (Leo) Messi, the same group that goes in and does the NBA, the same group that goes in and does the NHL, that’s the same group that’s coming in and meeting with Georgia Tech and going through their marks, their identity, their logo slicks,” Murphy said. “We’re just trying to clean all that up so we can just have some consistency in the marketplace.”

One result of the Adidas contract is that fans will eventually see more Tech apparel, made by Adidas, and in one shade of gold.

Bradley: Tech allies itself with Bradley, which has always been cool

“It definitely provides us with an opportunity to get our gold out there,” Stansbury said. “That’s one of the things I’ve always heard: ‘Well, I want to wear gold to the games, but I can’t find it.’ I think that’s going to be one of our priorities, is, how do we work with them to make sure that the people who want to find Georgia Tech gold can find it.”

It is, undoubtedly, part of Tech’s appeal to Adidas.

Said Murphy, “I’m sure the fan base is starved for product.”

Living in a corporate word where branding is extremely important it is surprising that Tech hasn't gone through this process before (maybe they have?). Tech is iconic and the color should become that as well. My daughter attends Clemson and we went to a game last year. Not owning an orange shirt, I borrowed one from my neighbor who is a Clemson fan but doesn't go to games. Sitting in the stands it was clear that my shirt was the wrong shade of orange. While there were some mild variations overall the color was very consistent which is what you will find at most major universities. Tightening the shade down and getting it consistently on apparel will certainly be a positive step. We certainly want consistency in the stands at the Natty!

So back to the topic I started, every year I go through a ritual, buy a new hat, last four years just the classic white with GT. At the end of the season write the record a memorable event, ex 2015 3-9 but GT 22 FSU 16 Miracle on Techwood. The next thing is I hang my GT flag out on the front of the house. American flag is on one side, always up and Gold GT flag on the other. Put it out this morning. Come November when it snows it looks really cool. The third is I always buy a replica jersey for the year. Last two years this has kind of sucked. For 2014 I got a white one and a gold one, with JTs number and Smelters. So for this year.........well no one is selling anything different. What the heck is a Tech fan to do.
