Don't see Godsey coming back to coach any college team as OC.
Agree. I think he's purely NFL now.

BOB, Chadwell and Mike Houston reportedly in the mix - no need to click
Should one be concerned about Houston and the East Carolina connection to he who should go un-named.........

Houston has a nice resume, but ZERO experience as a player or assistant or head coach at a major program. That is concerning, as he has no opportunity to even watch how its done at a P5 school, including the recruiting, organizing, management, fund raising, media, etc.No. Lewis had a subpar coaching record before hitting the undefeated season jackpot.
Houston has a really good coaching history at every stop.

You must be referring to Pay Dye who left ECU And was very successful at Auburn.Should one be concerned about Houston and the East Carolina connection to he who should go un-named.........
One was National Coach of the Year at Penn State and won his division four times in six years i the NFL, while the other has been slightly below average at ECU. Yep, very similarYeah Houston would be a very underwhelming hire IMO, but he would be a relatively safe hire - similar to how I view BOB.
Personally, I don't pay much attention to NFL results/experience - IMO it doesn't necessarily translate to NCAA.One was National Coach of the Year at Penn State and won his division four times in six years i the NFL, while the other has been slightly below average at ECU. Yep, very similar
I'm guessing Auburn goes there after Kiffin turns them down.Hugh Freeze?
Good point.I was strongly against hiring Whiz four years ago. Right now, I think we’d have been better off with him.
You may be right, but his record is 20-22 in his four years while they were 14-34 in the fours year prior. While that is much improvement, I would not say it is amazing. What Mike Houston has done at ECU has been nothing short of amazing. He inherited a massive mess there.
I thought the Whiz would be a solid hire, but was ok with Collins. Then, when I heard that he was bringing his whole staff, including Pat, I had serious doubts about Geoff.I was strongly against hiring Whiz four years ago. Right now, I think we’d have been better off with him.
A lot of the favored names are just that.i have a feeling we are hiring a name we haven’t discussed on here. like a p5 coordinator from a bigger school or position guy.
most of the favored names carry more risk than anyone wants to admit and i feel like the interest is more than likely one way
Because the buyout would be lower?I was strongly against hiring Whiz four years ago. Right now, I think we’d have been better off with him.
