I don't know and don't really care at this point. I am ready, more than ready, to move on from him but whether it is Coach Key or someone else for all that is holy and good, please get a real football coach and not some fast talking huckster who is a reincarnation of Sgt. Bilko. (Kids, ask your grand parents)

Here's what we don't know. We don't know the vision or what Cabrera has instructed him to do.

This is the current mission of the GTAA: "Georgia Tech Athletics will aspire over the next 10 years to create an innovative, inclusive, and world-class athletics program positioned to develop Everyday Champions who are leaders that advance technology and improve the human condition."

What's missing in that mission statement? The word "winning". Kinda strange isn't it that the primary mission of the GTAA does not include winning in it's mission?

So I can't judge Batt or his problem solving ability unless I know the criteria that his is to be judged upon. And right now, no one knows. Or maybe they do. But they aren't saying it.

I have heard bith Angel and Batt mention that we want GT sports to be worthy of athletic awards given each year for the best Head Football Coach, Best Assistant Football Coach, and best Athletic Director.

The Best Coach list all had teams that correlates to winning.

But i get your point of blah blah words in mission statement.

Money is needed. So far all i have seen is the gtaa rep called and begged for increase. Checking Ncaa Financials on Knight Database shows our 2021 DONATIONS ARE NO LONGER 50 % OF THE MEDIAN ACC AVERAGE ($12M VERSES 24M ) BUT HAVE DROPPED TO 33% ($8M).

Demanding our coaches and players do better than higher paid opponents is not realistic.

What a lot on here don't realize is how loud it was at Kenan and our guys handled it. Actually played a pretty clean game in a hostile environment. It got really loud in the 4th when they were driving and again when we had the last possession with 4 minutes. Two plays that were game changers were the holding penalty that brought back a long run and the drop by Downs.

do you still think Keon got away with a hand to the facemask on one of his sacks?

Yes. I forget whether it was his last sack or the one before, but late in the game he got hands to the face of the OL.

Just rewatched the game again with my dad. Arguably the best game play of the season (if you take out the first quarter). I was so unconvinced we could even score - my UNC sister in law was texting me all week talking smack, and I was like, "nothing to argue about". I was so impressed with Gibson's play vs his last couple of game appearances. Hats off to him stepping up. I love the 2 QB game plan. Always have. Use the right personnel to execute. Hope we get even more creative for next week. When Long has to be creative, we do better.

D played lights out, but ... why are D ends going to the inside on all the plays? This is something that has been a constant that my dad has pointed out to me at nearly every game. And if I can see it, surely Thacker can...after all, I've never played football. Anyway, White - WHEW!! Hope he plays that fiery next week! The whole D line was containing. I didn't hear much out of Walton or Lee this game, so I'm assuming that means they were covering their guy/territory well. #20 had a great game.

We are 4th in the coastal and beat the top 3 teams, lost to the bottom 2. That's irony for you.

All the players say, it's Key's energy and excitement. There is something to be said for guys wanting to play for you.........

I think one reason Gibson had a much better game this time is there was a clear plan that he was going to get significant playing time and be the main guy.

There was obviously a huge difference between the UNC game where Gibson would no doubt be the starter. They gameplanned around his strengths, and he ran with the 1’s all week in practice. His other appearances have been when he is coming in cold off the bench into a game he or the coaches weren’t prepared for him to play in. They did a really good job of mixing in Taisun too to give UNC 2 very different looks. Both of our QBs did exactly what they needed to do, and everything they were asked to do.

Apropos of nothing yet again, but I have often wondered how many times a penalty (holding, block in the block,etc.) caused a play to be succesful vs. the number of times it happened but really did not effect the outcome of the play. If this question is not answered for me here, it just might be the first question I ask the Almighty when I walk through the pearly gates and pass my interview there.

And here I thought this was a GT specialty. How many times over the years have we seen a back up or second teamer come in and have a Heisman-worthy day, only to return to obscurity after his or her brief moment in the sun. Too many times to count. i would share names but, honestly I really try my best to suppress those ugly memories.

I jokingly told my dad the tarheel right before the game, "Hey we've got you right where we want you. Our Q1 is out for the season. Our QB2 is out for the season. And our QB3/4 are so bad, they've played so rarely, you're not going to have any film on them, so ha!". Of course I said that thinking we'd lose by several touchdowns.

I have watched UNC play before this season and their D is really really bad. Their method of winning has been simply to hope that their O outscores the opponent. However, this is the first time I remember all season that our QB has had several seconds to throw, even against W Carolina. So maybe some improvement finally? Is it possible that Brent was so hampered by the practice structure that it's taken 6 weeks of real practice to reverse the damage of 3 years, and now he can show what he can do as an OLine coach?

Also, was Brent on the team when we platooned 2 different-style QBs against a highly ranked FSU and almost upset them?

Some good coaching finally showed up in a game plan whereby the plan was structured for the talent/skills/QB experience that we had available. We asked the QB's only to do what they were capable of doing and they responded in kind. It helped that the D had a great plan and performance to complement what we were doing on O.

We never saw that from the previous coach where we waisted some very good O talent that we had (Cottrell, Oliver, and some NFL caliber RBs) and continued to implement an O plan that was beyond what our talent could accomplish ( or beyond what our coaches could coach).

Going to disagree with you on Cottrell - he had straight line speed and that's it. That CGC was able to help get him to the NFL is one of the few things you can put in the win column for CGC.

I do not mind the stunts on the DL to create confusion with the OL. It worked a lot of times and led to many sacks. However, to your point, there were several plays where the DE crashed inside, but the DT did not stunt outside, which left a huge running lane for Maye. It looked like a couple of brain farts by the interior lineman or end, but in general I like the game plan.
