We've played Venables several years and he throws no surprise punches. We know exactly what's coming. Their guys are quick, strong, and great at defeating blocks......

I agree 100%. Clemson is going to rely on defeating blocks and being more physical since they have a big advantage in that area. They would be stupid to try and get away from their strength which comes from being better athletes than the other team.

Just like we had little trouble with Jax State (who is undefeated outside of our game) due to our physical dominance, Clemson will have little problem with us if they execute like they can.

This is the best team we will see this year and we are at their home and after a bye and after an upset defeat.

Well, if VT keeps winning, Clemson will be but 1 of 4 Top 10 teams we play. Georgia may prove a tougher tram...we will see. Our schedule is brutal.

We can't start slow, if we can weather the initial onslaught and home field crowd and stay close it'll be huge for our confidence.
Then limit the mistakes and see what happens ... they didn't blow-out WF at home !
I would take;
Wake +3
UVA +3
NC State to upset ND straight-up
I agree w everything BUT. ND is for real. (I hate to say it). If NCST proves me wrong that really says something about the ACC this year

NC State is 1-1 against P5 with winning records. The one team they beat with a winning record is 4-3 and beat 0 teams with winning records Notre Dame is 4-1 against teams with a winning records. I think ND seeks vengeance of last years hurricane's bowl and the snow possibility will help ND

Weather forecast right now is calling for rain on Saturday, hopefully, this team is ready now for the field conditions. After Miami, rain just makes me cringe
Nooooooo! Last time we went there, it was a miserable day standing in the rain for hours. And that was a noon game. I really hope it stops raining by kickoff. The whole environment is a lot more fun when it’s dry.

I always thought this was the dumbest thing ever. One guy trips 4-5 others are f#%ked. I don't understand why they even attemp it.
Maybe not the dumbest thing ever... John Smoltz went on the DL his rookie season for ironing a shirt without taking it off

Agreed on your general point though. I have always thought that if one of the first couple guys trips when they get going, they could lose 1/2 of the team to some fluke injury.

There are already so many non-contact knee injuries during the flying chest-bumps, surely a 45* turf incline is a disaster waiting to happen. Add that they like to jump down it.
