In the article "https://articles.al.com/auburnfootb...yer_personnel_d.amp?__twitter_impression=true"
It specifically mentions Suddes always having a thick binder with him wherever he went. My question is with recruiting positions such as these: Is the employee required to leave behind such binders because it maybe considered "intellectual property" of their employer? How does this work? I imagine that the binder/similar files stored on "clouds" contain very valuable information and 1,000's of hours of work within them. If not how do they keep them from accessing the information or duplicating it prior to their exit on a offsite server? Not in any shape, form, or fashion trying to implicate Suddes as doing anything he shouldn't. This is just purely a curious question.
I am just curious does Suddes get to bring it with him? Lol

Mods it looks like @GTJackets and I made a thread on this in exactly the same minute. Feel free to delete one. Personally I like mine better but that's just my opinion

I will now be boycotting this thread. My thread gets merged into this one and yet mine is the first post in it? I think we know who posted first. Not to mention that my description was specifically worded so posters wouldn't think it was Key. I actually named the guy in the title.

I'm done with this sham of a thread. Who's running this show?

But I'm still pleased with the hire regardless of my opinion of this travishamockery.

Can't deny that Tstan and CGC are pushing all the chips in.....from Plainsman.com

Patrick Suddes, Auburn's assistant athletic director for football, will be leaving the program to take a similar position at Georgia Tech, according to multiple outlets. 247Sports' Brandon Marcello was the first to report this news.

Suddes served as director of player personnel when he joined the Tigers prior to the 2016 season. He was promoted to assistant athletics director for football while also overseeing the recruiting department in 2017. Suddes played a large role in roster management for Gus Malzahn over the past three years.

New Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins and Suddes were on Nick Saban’s staff together at Alabama back in 2007.

Auburn was one of many stops in Suddes’ young career. He has held positions at Arizona State, Texas and Alabama before coming to Auburn.

Coach Collins is going to have a top notch coaching staff with the addition of Coach Key:cigar:

I said this a while back. Gt is a sleeping giant that needs to be awoken.

When the CPJ announced his retirement, that was the sentiment among a LOT of college coaches and media. Seems everyone believes that but GT fans themselves. There's a saying: Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.

For too long there were too many "can't" thinking and not enough "can". Glad that new leadership in the Athletic Dept and GT administration are finally believing the "can"....

Wondering if Suddes new job would preclude an Assistant HC position or the like for Brent Key. Could this mean the Key hire isn't happening?

Even so, Suddes appears to be another building block in a recruiting-oriented staff.
Didn't see a reply to this question. KQ tweeted that Suddes is essentially a replacement for Andy Lutz who was on CPJ's staff. Lutz went to App State to work in football ops.

Very pleased with the hires so far. Right backgrounds. Right mentality.

All this costs money, so hope people are willing to open up their checkbooks for tickets AND general support for football program.

I’m glad that the push for a stronger infrastructure is actually happening. We have been hearing a lot of talk the past year about giving Paul help and it’s great to see that it is becoming a reality. It makes me very excited long term

There’s a guy on YouTube that’s the Clemson equivalent of uncle Lou, but not quite as extreme.
I said this a while back. Gt is a sleeping giant that needs to be awoken. Finally things are happening to help. The school will always be a challenge. But we can be so much better even despite that.
theres a guy on YouTube that’s the Clemson equivalent of uncle Lou but not quite as extreme. He made a video when CPJ retired and stated he thinks Tech is a sleeping giant. And to paraphrase he said: I think higher about Techs programs than Tech fans do”

Well. He’s not wrong lol

Yes. Too bad Paul isn't here to benefit from it. The money here isn't from the legendary "big donors" either, if posts above are to be believed.

Oth, I like the hire. Like others here, I think the hype train might be getting the substance it needs, especially if the number of recruiting specialists picks up to 16 - 20. But remember, sports fans, Suddes is a coordinator and he needs a full staff to coordinate. It's the area recruiting specialists that make or break these endeavors. I don't doubt that he got promises that that will happen or he wouldn't have come.

Now all we have to do is: run a successful program, find the players to fit it, and win recruiting battles for them. Of which there will be a gracious plenty. This is a great start on doing that, but there are literally years to go in this process and it will take patience and money, as in lots of, to see it through.

That's a good point. We now need to provide Suddes with staff to coordinate

People who have worked with Geoff in the past want to work with him again. He must be a great guy to work with. The article indicates that this is not a promotion. Guess that remains to be seen.

This exactly. He's getting guys to jump ship for similar positions at big time programs. There might be a new title or pay raise, but when have you ever seen Tech do this? I can't see these moves happening as described unless these guys really want to be here. CGC has really been cultivating relationships over the years.

Beyond that, these moves wouldn't happen without serious commitment from someone with purse strings. Really doubt we're building a dream team based on throwing huge $$ alone, but it's intriguing to say the least that suddenly we're able and willing to play the game at all.

This is obviously a good hire.

Another staff member that's been near a lot of top players. I like Gus. He is a good guy.

Anybody notice the who has not posted their opinion.? We know their looking.
What do u think of the hire?

Imo, dont know what a new coach could do better in his first month. Yes the proof is in the pudding, .Roll eyes,

I am starting to agree with the doubters. 6-6 is a minimum.

Dismissing a total change in scheme, they come at it based on latent talent (2015,17?) that's still here after 2018.

I am liking the staff more and more. These young coaching guys could be good enough to realistically get us to 6 - 6.

I then laugh at my OPTIMISM when realize on dl we have has 2 upper jr w some experience and the rest are mostly freshmen who have never played.
