For those more attentive and knowledgeable, do you know or believe Tech was going to attempt a fake punt from their side of the 50 late in the game when Mario came screaming down the sidelines like a banshee? I don't but he must have seen something or maybe he just wanted to waste a timeout.
I'm also curious about that. Was Brent preparing a fake, and Cristobal caught on? Or was he just showing the look of one to get Mario to burn a time out?

CBK knew that CMC would suspect a fake, so CBK faked the fake and forced CMC to take the fake fake and burn the TO. Another psy ops. I think J Batt brought that over from Saban.
But Mario had to have known that Coach Key knew he would suspect the fake and was looking for a double fake and...ah forget about it. We won.

Outside of UGA Miami is EASILY the team I’d pick to have a knack for beating them to ruin their season. HELL YEAH BABY
Everyone has their favorite hate teams. For me it is UGA better known as "Athens Correctional" then Miami, and then Duke. I would put Clemson but their fans are generally so nice at least the few times I have been there.

The hater in me wonders why we heard none of this during the broadcast. So it smacks of damage control after the fact since the Cam-centric stuff blew up in smoke.

But the kinder, gentler part of me appreciates the kind words and high praise ... including early Heisman hype on Philo (you heard me right)...

I watched the recorded broadcast on Sunday to wash down the Falcons crap and he seemed to be praising us a lot during the broadcast. He sucked up to Miami of course, but he said a lot of nice things about us, as well, but maybe that’s because I was watching a replay with no stress knowing the outcome. The broadcast leaned pro-Miami, but it was better than hearing the commentary from the Miami bozos behind me at BDS Saturday afternoon 😂

I think Philo is actually more elusive than Pyron is. I don't think Faulkner has fully unleashed Philo yet. Philo isn't as quick or fast as Haynes, and we won't see many 20+ yard TD runs from him like we do with King, but he's a plus runner. I just don't think Faulkner wants to put that kind of wear and tear on Philo with King not fully healthy.
Philo has a nice pocket presence. He moves well to avoid the pass rush while looking downfield.

After watching it twice. My own observations which given my pre game posts may not be all that spot on.

1) Many times when Tech has beaten or tied a heavily favored opponent like Alabama 1962, Tennessee 1966, Notre Dame 1975(?) Miami more than a couple, Virginia Tech, and so on the formula has generally been one of Control the clock, run the football limit the opponent's possessions, pressure the opponent's quarterback and no turnovers. It is a tried and true formula for underdogs everywhere, not just on the Flats.

2) One of the absolute most courageous performances I have ever seen. Haynes King and Trey Cooley in particular.

3) Miami is still Thug U. Always has been always will be. It is what they do and who they are.

4) For those more attentive and knowledgeable, do you know or believe Tech was going to attempt a fake punt from their side of the 50 late in the game when Mario came screaming down the sidelines like a banshee? I don't but he must have seen something or maybe he just wanted to waste a timeout.

5) Miami had played four games in a row...they looked tired, a step slower especially on defense. It may or may not have been a factor.

6) Mario had the same look on his face that Dean Wormer had at the end of the movie Animal House. "I really hate these guys".
On Mario using that timeout I think they had 12 men on the field and if he hadn’t called timeout they’d have gotten a penalty and given us a first down. I could be wrong but that’s what heard.

Why anyone gives a damn about redshirting a player that is a significant factor in winning games is beyond me. If any player can help us win the game we are playing they should play that game. You play to win the game!
Agreed! This redshirt talk is puzzling. The kid is a TRUE freshman if he needs to redshirt he can do it next year while King finishes out his eligibility.

It is not that simple. So you willing to sit him next year and lose him for 8 games rather than one game this year, and when it is very possible we will not have Pyron as a backup? That makes no sense.
