From Brendan Marks at the Athletic.
Understand it is very difficult to keep up with every roster change and do your own copy editing and draw sensible conclusions. He has some mistakes in our summary and others.

I would not bet against the starting lineup he has for GT. At least on opening day.

Nice to see!

Just catching up on bball news.

When Kyle was finishing out his GT career, I said in his "goodbye" thread I hoped to see him go into coaching. I think he's going to be a great coach...and I hope to see him back at GT one day on the sidelines. Great to see him start his coaching career.

An interesting sidenote to Sturdivant at BYU. He'll be under HC Kevin Young who will be in his first year at BYU. Young was thought of as an up and coming coach in the NBA ranks much the same way Stoudamire was with the Celtics. Should be a good environment for Sturdivant to learn from a coach with NBA experience, but also growing along with a coach as he takes on a Power 4 job for the first time.

Tech has released “Cheer Like a Student” general admission tickets for Section 113 anticipating the small student turnout over winter break for Duke. I kind of absolutely love this idea, just hope it doesn’t get bought up by Duke fans.
I would buy that but I'm in NY that weekend for holidays.

Christmas in NY is always crowded. Shopping, the tree, ice skating and decorations everywhere.
It is pretty glorious.
I am there now and agree about the crowd of tourists.
Just got back from NYC yesterday and wow was it crowded. The sidewalks were packed.

It gets crazier when college kids break & public schools are out. Always better when GT has holiday game at MSG. Not this year, so one New Yorker is escaping the madness & a hovering drone over his home for a 4 day get away in Atlanta. Lady Jackets hosting Rice, Wednesday afternoon 12/18 anyone?

There is a reasonably major medical meeting held in mid December in midtown Manhattan every year that I used to go to. While NY for Christmas is great for sure, it is even better when you are going on a big Pharma expense account with the intent of entertaining physicians during your visit. Got to take the wife as all the docs brought their spouse as well and it made things easier.

I will admit though that it cost me dearly when she went shopping during the day o_O
