Someone above said embarrassing loss??? I have gotten more positive texts from people watching the game who didn’t have a horse in the race. On the global scale this loss was anything but embarrassing based on the messages I got. Some from people who I haven’t chatted with in months or even years. This was good pub as we looked to be every bit their equals. The negatives from the night have and will continue the to be brought up in this thread.
I have gotten alot of positive texts also. Mostly from UGA fans. If im being honest that pisses me off even more than the game.

When they FINALLY called PI for us and put the ball on the 1 yard line, I was convinced we had just won the game. After that, I was emotionally exhausted for everything else. Hard to beat a team when your best LB goes down and 4 DBs go down. This team has guts, and it’s obvious Key has reinstalled the hate back into COFH.

Our boys want one and they want it badly and they almost got it tonight. Reminds me of 2013 when we lost a game we should have won. 2014 rolls around and we won a game that tried to get stolen from us. Hopefully 2025 comes around and we close it out.

We have struggled all year to finish games out. All we can do is hope that the growing pains we felt this year pays dividends in the future in finishing games.

It takes a better than good team to beat Georgia in Athens. There is a reason they have won 31 straight home games. There is a reason only Alabama had beaten them in the regular season for nearly 4 years until their loss at Ole Miss.

Ther are stocked with NFL talented players and have very good coaches.

Our guys punched way above their weight class tonight.

Tough loss. You comment is hot garbage!
Root, you’re right, but you have to admit GT should have closed out the W in this one.

We fought hard. Had a lot of guys go down in the secondary, offense was a machine all night. Looking at the stats you’d think we won by 21+. Unfortunately the better team won a close game, but the team that played with the most pride and effort has to go home with a bitter L. This one stings, more than most. Like many of you, my phone is ringing off the hook from people I haven’t talked to in 365 days. I’m taking the lashing with a lump in my throat and a pain in my chest, but my chin is no closer to my chest than it should be. I’m buying stock in the Yellow Jackets, and I think you all should too. THWg…..piss on em!

Also the 2 point conversion OT rule is trash. This is what happens when you allow sports books in bed with all of sport. Big overtimes throw off their numbers game.

King wanted the win more than anything and it hurts he fumbled that ball. I echo all of the complaints about the refs stated above

I hate the 2pt back and forth. Running 3 yard plays for a TD is actually pretty hard and both teams are exhausted. It starts to kinda feel like luck at that point. It's partially why I wish we had gone for 2 in the 1st OT. Try to beat them before we are too tired to.

Sad. Disappointed. Proud. Thrilled with our overall play. Frustrated that we missed a chip shot FG that would have won us the game,
me.

Don’t see a lick of difference between GT and UGa in football.
I felt the same way. To my mind this looked to be a matchup of equal teams. Normally we look like the JV against the varsity in this game.

Massive choke job. Embarrassed on national stage by them again. Anyone proud of this performance is a key as to why we always lose to them. We’re happy being close losers
If anyone is embarrassed by what they saw they don’t know ball. Outplayed them today and had a lot of things go against us. If you think we haven’t made progress in 3 years idk what to tell you. This team has been banged up all year and lacks legit depth. Recruiting will continue to improve and this team will be dangerous for a long time to come.

This game reminds me little bit of the bball game in 1989 between Georgia Tech and Illinois. Illinois was #2 that weekend but #1 Duke had already lost, paving the way for the Illini to move up, if they could beat us. Illinois was very talented. That team had Kendal Gill, Nick Anderson, Kenny Battle, and Marcus Liberty. We took them to overtime. We were in foul trouble. Tom Hammonds, Brian Oliver, and Johnny McNeil all fouled out. Double overtime. *&^! **** Vitale screaming, "They're the Flyin' Illini!" and saying how he already has his poll ballot filled out with Illinois #1 but maybe he has to change it if Tech can win. Well, it was just too much. Between having guys foul out, the Illini talent, and the home court advantage, Illinois pulled away in 2OT. I just now looked it up and Lenny Wirtz was one of the refs. I rest my case.

This felt like that. We had...FOUR(?) defensive backs get injured. The refs threw out all semblance of balance in the fourth quarter. Announcers unceasingly reminding us that UGA clinches a playoff berth with a win. At Sanford Stadium with the obnoxious barking 'Dawg fans. And we STILL almost won.

Not trying to make excuses. It's a loss. But it's a FAR cry from pathetic ugliness that preceded Key.

Yes, it's a loss. But it took home field advantage; 8 tie-breakers (WORST rule in college football and no close second); injuries to us on both sides of the ball; awful officiating; and flat out luck for them to beat us this year. It's tempting to say they sold their soul to the Devil to win tonight but that presumes UGA has a soul left to sell.

To Hell with Georgia!

I think the problem here is our wins are a couple in 25 years. And that is embarrassing. And losing when you clearly should win; like other years; 2013 comes to mind. 2009. 2006. Blah blah blah get old and it seems to happen so similarly so many times.

Was our performance today embarrassing. Absolutely not. Was inspiring even though we choked the game away. And all of us can see the fight and progress

But its a results business so to speak. And at this rate. Kids born in 2001 will see tech beat uga 9 times by the time they are 75. And thats not where any of us want to be. But thats the rate; progress and moral victories are cute. Damn man. When u should win. U need to win.

You know what? My initial reaction was “what is Darthdad talking about and then as I read what you wrote I started thinking more and more that that’s not a bad comparison at all. I was at that basketball game. My buddy and I wrote for the Technique covering the team and we drove to that game to cover it. Afterwards we went into our locker room and told the guys that we were so proud of them. A couple of them couldn’t understand why we would say that when they lost. We replied that we know a loss is a loss but we were so proud that they gave every last bit of what they had to win that game. And it was one of the best college basketball games I ever attended. Man that long drive home listening to the Super Bowl was rough, though :ROFLMAO:
