Folks in here are panicking way too early. Pastner and co had a great game plan in the first half. But you gotta give coach cal. The second half adjustment really separated the game. What really kills me is how terrible our guards are at defending on the ball! Banks and Wright are great rim protectors but GD man they shouldn’t be relied upon to stop 75% of offensive possessions. The matador defense from our guards has to stop “guard your yard”!

I really like having Moore bring the ball up in hopes of getting bubba and devoe spot up looks. Devoe still is improving but yesterday was pretty bad. Not because he was missing open shots but he forced a whole lot bricks that took us out of the game. Has to be able feel the double coming and Jew the ball moving. Too often the ball would get stuck in his hands imo.

It may be time to to look at the JA's injury absences as a MAJOR problem for this team.It seems EVERY yr he is gone with some problem. Then we stop functioning well like car with water in the gas. What can be done? Don't know but its obvious there is not enough teamwork developed to be even a decent offensive team.Having Devoe guarded well is exactly what is expected for the LONE real threat on team.Just not enough offensive talent (look at FT%) and not good enough GOOD coaching to overcome ANY problems like JA being hurt , Banks in a funk, or Devoe having the ball out of his hands.

Will see about change after JA and Usher get in ..They'll probably get up to speed just in time for us to go on probation to miss the ACC tourney. hmmm

For me, it's not panic, it's annoyance.

Then I guess you are not in the camp that thinks missing Jose is a major problem for us offensively, if you think that plugging in any 'ol 2nd tier small forward at point guard is our best alternative? Aren't you always asking for more playing time for Shembari? Isn't he a guard?

and granted no one thinks I am worthy of millions of dollars to coach basketball

And based on the rest of your post for good reason. Your solutions would just lead to worse players being on the court and not coming close to addressing the actual problem.

Unfortunately coaches aren't omnipotent. There isn't always a magic button to push to make the problems go away. We're without our third year starting PG. There are going to be big issues no matter what we try to do because of that.

Nope. My solutions would change behaviors, thereby addressing the problem. That's part of coaching. Changing players' behavior. The first and most effective tool in the coaching tool box is playing time. You can lose every game playing your 5 best players 40 minutes per game and letting them make the same dumb mistakes over and over again.

Have you ever played organized basketball? Ever been around a high-school or college practice? If you have, then you know these things are already happening.

I have, and have never approached a group that have as many excuses as you

just remember, while you’re out here giving me ****, the team is out there still losing games. I admire your continued commitment to excusing that

Trust and believe I don’t think we are anywhere near our full potential without JA. What I’m saying is that devoe and bubba at the pg role was NOT the bandaid we needed. While I’m still pro shembari in JAs absence, it was nice to see the coaching staff adjust even if it was Khalid.

As long as you continue acting like a horses ***, I’ll continue to give you ****. Tell you what though, I’m gonna take the high road and step away for a couple hours before I say something I probably shouldn’t. It’s clear that you want to go through life being an antagonist. Have it!

You should making some excuses for having your childish behavior.

Moses had a pretty good game too.

Man, I'm not sure why Moses doesn't get more love from GT fans...in fact, he gets a lot of grief from some of us. He was extremely raw when he signed with us, but the guy is doing his part. He's our second leading scorer, and is actually out-rebounding James Banks. He's averaged a double double the last 4 games. Outside of Elon and Arkansas, he's been a double figure scorer for us this season. Right now, besides Devoe, Moses is probably our most consistent scorer. He's also shooting over 55% for the year.

Everyone knows how I feel, however, I agree that Pastner's job status isn't really something we should talk much about all season.

That's my feeble attempt at bridging the gap between my two favorite bros. Who? Oh, I meant you and @connell62

I'm staying out of it.

I do agree it's worthless to talk CJP's job status currently.

Yeah. I feel it's our duty to make sure they don't end up in a knockdown drag out fight though.

Or, if they do, it's our duty to get it all on film for later. :D

Unless we go on a massive win streak once we get into January with full complement of players (which I don't expect) I'm with @Peacone36 on this.

I do agree however that it is useless to comment on coaching changes at this stage.
