Wish him well but with what we are doing with D now being more versatile running 3-4 and 4-2-5 we are over stocked at LB and have some studs coming in at LB.

yet another example of why level loading classes at tech is not possible

fill this class up to the max STAFF. PLEASE FILL THIS CLASS UP. We need LB's. We need DL. Can't ever take too many OL....

Just took a peek at our LB depth for next year:
Tyler Cooksey (RS-SO)
Vic Alexander (JR)
Brant Mitchell (JR)
Terrell Lewis (SR)
Jakob Brashear (RS FR)
Tre Jackson (RS JR)
David Curry (RS SO)

That's 7 players with Bruce Jordan-Swilling and likely one other LB coming in next year. If Leonard Warner, that'd be two 4* rated LB. Even for a 4-3, we'll be three deep at the position with a good mix of years (1 SR, 3 JR, 2 SO, 1 RS FR, 2 FR). I would have loved Bridges since he looked really good in high school and enrolled early, but this group is pretty deep. Jackson or Alexander should step up in the PJ Davis role and Brant Mitchell is already a starter in the 4-2-5. Terrell Lewis will also see the field likely in a 4-3. Might allow us to RS the freshman. Either way, best of luck to Bridges. I trust he feels this is the best decision.

From a size/speed/athleticism standpoint, not sure we have enough guys like Bridges. Sorry, some on here can say what they want, but this is a loss. From the list of LBs above, the only other guy who shows the same amount of speed and athleticism for the position is Terrell Lewis, and possibly Bruce Jordan-Swilling who will be a true freshmen. Terrell Lewis isn't even getting playing time...so...

Of course, playing LB is more than just a physical skillset.
