Didnt get to watch. Can someone plz provide a breakdown of what went right, who played well etc. Is Gibbs hurt bad?

What went right? For starters, would you believe we were 8 for 8 on PAT's. Running game was good, It was nice seeing JP Mason back. Most unbelievable sequence of special teams errors in the first half (Duke joined in on the festivities) that you have ever see in a 2 to 3 minute span. Watch the replay and focus on the last part of the first half.

Defense came up with 5 TO's (one for a score) and Curry made several big plays. In short, nothing like a win 2 days after Thanksgiving!!

Sims really put his foot in the ground and made some amazing runs. The sack turned first down on the first drive enabled the Gibbs long TD. Good things happen when you move the sticks.

The KR/PR errors will get us beat by good teams. My tv survived the things that were thrown. Have to get better there. Plus side is we made all XP.

Defoor struggled tonight but no procedures from Jordan and didn’t really notice him all night, which makes me think he had a good game.

The much maligned Curry had a great game, maybe the best of his career. Dominick had a hell of a game.

Duck Fuke, every day, in every way. Love beating Cutcliffe.

Posted on FB and shall repost here:

While I'm quite miffed at Sinclair Broadcast Group for asking for so much for the fox regional channels and thus not being able to actually watch the game against Duke tonight. It has been quite enjoyable listening to @Georgia Tech Football on the radio. @Andy Demetra, Sean Bedford, and Wiley Ballard are delivering an awesome broadcast as always.

Things we know:
  1. Geoff Collins has a better record against Duke in his first 2 games than CPJ did in his last 2 games
  2. This is GT’s first Thanksgiving weekend win since 2016, and first at home since 1999
  3. There is still a chance for this team to get to .500 (I don’t think the Miami game will ever happen)

Did they mention why Harvin wasn't punting tonight? he was dressed out and on the sidelines?

ETA: To Scubapro, we posted at about the same time. The TV people didn't comment on it. In fact, the first punt, they didn't even notice that it was Kent and not Harvin. Hoping maybe thoose who listened to the radio picked up something on this.

I believe we scored as many points tonight as we did in any two games last year combined. We still have a ways to go on that side with experience and OL play but we've made huge strides since last year. RB group is super deep and that was key tonight. Sims is such a threat both in the air and on the ground that when he matures and fixes some of the issues he's going to be real good. Hard to complain much about 56 points and 500+ yards. Too sloppy with the penalties but after a month off it isn't completely unexpected.

Defense is weird. On one hand it felt like they were getting beat too often and they likely were. On the other hand the effectively gave up just 21 points, just 7 after half, forced 5 turnovers, held Duke to 3.3 ypc, 4 sacks, under 50% completion percentage, and 6-17 on third down. Guess it was very feast or famine with them.

ST 8/8 on extra points, no field goals needed, decent coverage on kick offs/punts. Bad return game.

Overall this year was always more about development than raw record. After a tough stretch of games and a long time off we certainly came back tonight and made strides in the right direction that we could potentially build on. Next couple of weeks will be interesting, if we get to play. NCSU and Pitt aren't Duke, but they also aren't ND/Clemson. They'll be good games to compare and contrast to how we did against BC.

Post game radio with Collins re: DP on the sideline:
Summarizing here - They’ve had a lot of time to discuss it over the long break and it was really beneficial for Jeff especially him being down there.

Also: Collins hated the called blitz on the 1yd line that caused the sack/TD. Said he absolutely hated the call and was screaming on the headset to Thacker “What the hell are you doing Thack?!?”
Then he changed his mind when he saw the sack he said lmao. Pretty cool thing to own up to and give the DC credit.
