SC press conference.

300 folks tested so far, 20+ positives. So very low hit rate.

SC set up a website where you complete a form and they tell you where to go to get tested if it looks like you should. It’s all done outside of hospitals and doctors offices to minimize impact on them.

We don’t need any permission or interaction wihh th the CDC on any of this.

Schools shut down. 100+ people gatherings shut down.

I think it's simple.

Let people do what they want. For those that want to continue to get together in large crowds at bars and restaurants, and get together in large public gatherings...go for it. If you choose to do so, you need to sign a waiver that if you do indeed catch the virus and need serious medical attention or medical resources, you will be at the mercy of availability of the hospital and resources. You have to wait for space/resources that goes first to the people that followed the rules.

As long as people understand the dangers, acknowledge the treatment or resources that they are giving up to those that follow the rules, hey, let them have fun and live life like they usually do. Something tells me that if you hold people's feet to the carpet they will take this a LOT more seriously.

wtf. Good thing you’re not in charge lmao

DHEC Director (Medical PhD) stated that in SC we have no shortage of ability to test whatsoever. So it appears any inability to test is related to state government management/competence.

Why should people who did the right thing have to suffer because a bunch of people who didn't do the right thing? There's information available about what can happen if you catch the virus, regardless of age, so if people understand it and still opt to act irresponsibly, hey...may God be with you.

What does it matter...if it's all just hype and a hoax, those who choose to act against the advice of medical professionals have nothing to worry about, right?

This what a Dr. Fauci said: "I think we should really be overly aggressive and get criticized for over-reacting."

I agree 100%.

I agree 100%.

Our federal government is getting a lot of criticism for both overreacting and underreacting. I hope they keep doing exactly what they think is appropriate based on the science and ignore the peanut gallery.

Governments exist because people can't be left to their own devices. Sadly.

If every person did what they were asked to do for the good of the public, we wouldn't have all this hysteria. Unfortunately, some people need to rebel to "show the man", or they're just plain selfish...that only hurts the majority and eventually themselves.

Let's take it from another perspective.

What do YOU think the government should be doing right now? How would YOU treat the people who continue to ignore the advice of medical experts during this time?

The problem is not those that want to eat & drink out as opposed to in home. How do you make bartenders, cooks, & wait staff serve the public if they are scared to? Of course, they might want to keep working for the tips. Hard call either way.

Unfortunately, that's the toughest part of all of this. There will be "innocent" people who are affected by this. There's not an easy answer to any of this, but if people do what medical experts ask them to do, hopefully we can shorten this crises, and life will go back to normal as soon as possible. What's certain is if people DON'T follow the advice of the medical experts, this crises will continue and people like cooks/bartenders/etc will continue to suffer.

i think you're right. folks who violate the rules will need to be jailed. Unfortunately their risk will go higher and maybe others like family too.

I didn't say jail...no one in jail needs to suffer because one person decided to be selfish.

All I'm saying is if you need medical care, you should go to the end of line until those that decided to follow the advice of medical experts are treated first. You knew the consequences, you decided to continue to act against the advice of medical experts, now you have a bill to pay in the form of forfeit of immediate medical attention.

It's like saving for retirement. You don't need to save for retirement, but when it comes time for you to retire, good luck...

What’s wrong with freedom? Glad you’re not in charge.

People don’t follow sound advice/guidance or obey laws all the time. Drunk drivers kill people. Fat people have heart attacks and get diabetes that causes strain on the medical system. Lazy people need welfare and sap resources from all of us. Drug addicts destroy stuff & need rehab they can’t afford. Reckless behavior is all around us. There are rapists, racists, liars, manipulators, scumbags, etc all over the place. People hire illegals instead of Americans. Bureaucrats suppress beneficial drugs & kill people that could have been saved. Companies tweak tests to present positives when it’s really negative.

I can decide what to do without some government moron demanding I do it. This is supposed to be a freedom loving country.
