None of those claims are actually true, so no, I don’t believe there is any correlation. I do however, believe there is a correlation in Americans having a superiority complex and claiming we are the best in the world at everything even though we clearly aren’t, which leads to America having problems the rest of the developed world never does.

It’s pretty close. Look at the VC money - compare out net worths. When the Asian tsunami hit, who gave the most money? Haiti? Rwanda? Most of the wars? And so on. To just blanket day “it’s not true” - you have some real deep seeded negativity towards this country that isn’t healthy. We have our flaws, but there are a lot of truths in that assertion. Typically when some study ranks us low in something on this type of list it’s got an internal butthurt bias. There’s a lot of jealousy and resentment towards us in the world.

Well there’s a few things we’re not good at: genocide, globalism, protectionism, border control, government fiscal discipline, protecting our own national security interests, etc. I’m sure there’s a couple more. The list of what we’re exceptional at is just way too long.

If America is such a despicable country why do we have so many foreigners from across the globe trying to get in here by any means possible & very few Americans leaving and renouncing their citizenship? People are waiting decades to get into this country. Maybe they didn‘t get the word how horrible a place this is?

Yup, even the “happiest” places on the planet like Scandinavia come here more per capita than the other way around.

Multiculturalism at its best. Blame America First. Public education dollars well-spent.

Dr, Francis Collins was on Meet The Press this morning. He is Dr. Fauci’s boss. I recommend watching. The guy was a complete tool. Will tell you a lot about why the NIH/FDA/CDC are so dysfunctional. It’s management by people like him.

This is the greatest country that has ever existed in human history. The number of people who have been lifted out of poverty and starvation, and liberated from tyranny and oppression, from our founding until now, is just staggering. And it’s all either directly, or very closely indirectly, tied to American wealth and prosperity and our interceding when necessary.

Amount of SARS-2 exposure may determine whether or not you develop symptoms: On Diamond Princess people didn't wear masks & only 18% of infected were asymptomatic (https://bit.ly/2CEoTOX) but on another ship where everyone was masked, the number was 81%

The government owns the roads and highways. If we don’t like the laws the lawmakers are making we have the right to vote for different lawmakers to change the laws. People forget we voted for these imbeciles.

The Government is the people so we all own the roads. Somewhere I read "We the people, ........ ".

yet only 56% of voting age people voted in 2016. Sad. We lock up more people per capita (.7%) of our population so that isn't it. (Yes we lead the world in incarceration numbers and rate.) https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/05/21/u-s-voter-turnout-trails-most-developed-countries/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incar...ited States has the,or people tried as adults.

If I had an answer other than vote, I would give it. I got elected to a local office and learned my lesson about that route. Being an elected official is often a thankless task; many do it for altruistic reasons and many do it for financial gain (i.e. development, business advantages) and many do it for ego. (Categories overlap!)

COVID has further exposed the dysfunction in our governance today. I think we'll respond as a united country when we all recognize a common threat. Not even COVID has been able to do that. Sad.

Did I ever say America was a despicable? No. Compared to most of the world America is a great place to live. Compared to most of the developed world, it’s pretty average to above average. America is exceptional at many things, but’s it’s also embarrassingly low in many other categories that European and some Asian countries excel at. Those lists include public education, healthcare, incarceration, literacy rate, infant mortality rate, life expectancy, environmental friendliness, obesity, trust in media, work week length, etc. Many people completely ignore the problems America has simply because of the market power that is available here. There’s plenty good reasons for adults with no school aged children to move to America, even from Nordic countries. As it stands now though, America simply isn’t the best country to spend your entire life, especially someone who is lower-middle-class and below.

You guys will literally talk about how brainwashed liberals and millennials are, and then say and believe things like this. This is brainwashing 101 my friend. I’m guessing you were probably born in/near the baby boomer generation. A time when American “exceptionalism” was at/near its peak. That very message was conveyed in schools and throughout the media because it was needed if the U.S. was going to “win” the Cold War with the Soviets. American “exceptionalism” didn’t exist until WW2 ended, and the Cold War began.

Objectively, in the modern day, America simply is not the best overall country in the world. You can bring any kind of anecdotal evidence you want, or talk about the past to try and prove me wrong, but there is no objective metric that will agree with you. On an overall scale, America sits around ~10th in world ranking. Is that considered great? Absolutely. But it’s not objectively the best, and there are many things we could learn from other countries.

Going back to WW2 and how it relates to this pandemic. If you were a healthy American adult during WW2, odds are you were doing something to help the war effort. Whether that was fighting, manufacturing, farming, medical care, etc. Citizens rationed their food so enough could be sent overseas to feed the military. People in urban and suburban neighborhoods began to grow some of their own food so major farms could provide more to the military. Those citizens made legitimate sacrifices for the betterment of the country and the world. We’re asking modern citizens to wear a mask for 20 minutes in the grocery store and they act like toddlers. America, our citizens, and our leadership have been so ridiculous throughout this pandemic, that other countries have literally closed their borders to us.

People vote with their feet, and they say your assertions just aren’t true.

Countries have vastly different ways of reporting things. Right now for example, on paper we have a higher mortality rate on COVID-19 than Brazil and many other similar countries. That’s of course rubbish. Look at how countries report childhood deaths and violent crimes. They are wildly different. For example, the UK has a violent crime rate several times higher than ours. If you google that, you’ll cross lots of articles that discuss wildly different reporting mechanisms. How is our education system so poor yet we lead the world in innovation, startups, incomes, net worths, and way way way more people come here for their education than the other way around. Sure there are urban cesspools I’d stay away from for a variety of things, but those are often the same areas who also run themselves in quite UnAmerican ways.

Well okay, if you’re going to now say we’re one of the best countries in the world (Just not THE best) instead of just average, I imagine we’ll all agree with you.

The countries who closed their borders to us across Europe managed this disease significantly worse than we did. Their death numbers per capita are still all worse. That’s why they have shut us off now - they ran that disease through their countries like there was no tomorrow and don’t want to go back. Unlike them (either exceptions like NYC) we flattened the curve and very few Americans ever got inflected in the first place.

Obviously, there are 9 other countries that would be better for you to live in. I will help you out if you need money for moving expenses. Just let me know. I will be glad to help.

I want less people to vote. There are too many morons voting already.

Lower class or even below is wealthier than a lot of Countries' middle class. Do you know anyone without a cell phone, computer of some kind, tv, car, basic rights, safety nets, etc. etc.? Even our homeless have access to water. Read up JO.
