Texas will certainly try to get Marshall - will be interesting to see if he takes the job if offered. He has been very picky and can afford to be. Texas is a top 10 job though, so it would have to intrigue, especially since it doesn't have quite the same fanbase as a UCLA, KY, UNC, Duke.

What Wichita St has set up for him and his family though is impressive. Not only does he make almost $2M/yr, the team flies charter to every game. He flies a private plane for every recruiting event. His family flies a private jet anytime they want to go on a trip. The school set up educational trust funds for his kids. They really did a nice job of offering incidentals that make a difference to his family, not just salary.

FWIW, there are rumors the Wade is now slow playing Charlotte. Waiting to see if a couple of bigger dominoes will fall and open something better for him.

Also, saw a rumor of Ron Hunter and DePaul this morning.

Parrish & others reporting Wade has withdrawn from consideration. Some think LeVelle Moton of NCCU could make a good candidate. Goodman just tweeted that, for instance.

While we've had some fun with the Coaching Changes twitter, found another site & twitter feed that actually seems to have more actual scoop. They actually reported the Dollar rumors.

http://www.hoopdirt.com/

They started talking about Wade being out late yesterday, ahead of other pundits.

If I'm Capel and I've been a HC at OK, I'm not sure I don't wait for a job better than Charlotte.

If Tookie Brown reopens his recruitment & the grades are there, we should offer immediately and figure out opening a spot for Jaylen Brown later.

Hell, Jaylen Brown might be more inclined to go to GT if Tookie is on board. The kid is hard-nosed and a winner.

So hard for me personally to move on when I read stuff like this or other coaches that are on the market.:bigtears::grumpy::vomit:
Personally, I think it's important we keep tracking. There are only so many decent jobs open.

Right now, it's Bama, Miss. State, DePaul. We're waiting to see if Texas, Indiana, Seton Hall and maybe St. John's or Oklahoma State open up.

There are rumors Crean could go to Bama and further rumors Donovan could go to Indiana.

So, as the carousel turns, let's see how many of the candidates we liked make moves or stay put. Also, what about the added challenge that the coaches we liked sign salary increases where they are, potentially blocking us for next year, as well? Mack, Miller, & White could easily become unattainable even for next year if they get increases.

I just want a kid on our team named Tookie.

Brown & Brown, Inc. would be nicer.

Goodman now also reporting Howland to Miss. State. Something else to think about here more conceptually. Although he lacked results, Ray had only been given 3 years, showed periodic signs of life and had actually been attracting some solid recruits, including some from Georgia. Compared to our AD's stance, certainly not given a fair shake by some measures.

That said, their administration saw an oppty to uptier their coaching AND had the resources to do it. They saw their shot and took it.

ETA: A Gary Parrish article indicates Howland's 1st choice was for UNLV to open up. He'd have probably cleaned up there on multiple levels, but he's desperate to coach again.

ETA2: LOL!

MissSt definitely made an aggressive move. Gotta commend them for it but, yeah, 3 years and showing signs of life seems a bit of a quick trigger.

I mean, dude was kicking our butts on the trail and in GA. Can we hire Ray to our staff?

Our staff is what it is. I'll keep pounding the table that Herrion will get us in some good mixes, but BG still has to close.

Beautiful, not only do we miss on upgrading our program but the guy who could have revived it will more than likely be recruiting in our backyard. This coming only a few years after he was pulling recruits from GA out to the west coast.

What an absolute joke the GT program is becoming.
