Under cpj the ol blocking assigments were complicated. What looked like a bad angle and a wiff was deception for a future play.
On the uncalled targeting by the safety, how did he get an unblocked direct shot at near full speed. Center took thecdt on down block.

Looking through and saw this post. Thinking about it, HK’s performance against UGAg was the toughest QB performance I’ve seen sine JfN’s performance against VPI back in 2009. Josh ran like a brahma bull that night! He was not going to be denied. It is a mortal shame that HK wasn’t allowed to walk off that field that night with the W.

Uga 24 Athen = King was a total baller.
The post game interview with King and Efford should be required viewing for Tech fans. ( Its on ramblinwrek com , NEWS, 11/30/24, scroll down to interview).
Guy has never shown emotion post game, but after the highest high and lowest low of this game, his internal agony came out for a few seconds. " right now i am so tired of giving your all and always comming up short at the end" . 1 minute later - " as qb its on me to no matter what to not let that happen - he made a good hit... i should have had 2 hands on ball- six points of contact . ... its on me."
And just like that he is back to being team leader. He defines Team captian.
He now hates UGA
In 25 we need to open up offense with more passing so King can ball philo can come in and just add more ball. To hell with barely winning.

Beating mutt butt good. A shame because the last home game against the mutts I personally witnessed was 1999. Was planning on a return trip this year. Not sure about the Benz, just not the same for a GT home game.

Last time the refs jobbed us like this, our stand out QB got the last laugh and won in his last game at Tech. Then his good back up went out and beat them 2 more times. Can you imaging the misery?

The 40% is probably low. If you watched the pre-game warm up Pyron was catching balls thrown to him with one hand and could not lift his arm above his shoulder. He was severly hurt. I was disapointed that the coaches played him and gave him no real pess cover for how bad he was injured. I have real support for the Key era coaching but in this case IMO Pyron was put in a no win situation with injury which the coaches did not appropriately and publicly address. Maybe lesson leason learned and time to move on. Best of luck to Pyron in Minn.

What I noticed early was that when he had a wide-open running lane, he'd get 2 steps and then was tackled from behind. He had no acceleration and seemed very hobbled.

Concur with @forensicbuzz's statement about Quinlan’s assessment of Pyron at the VT game. Knowing how Zach played once with a broken collarbone, he probably understated the true extent of his injuries. I don’t fault our coaches too much for being reluctant to go to a third-string true freshman who had a total of 5 snaps under his belt at that point. But they could have done a better job of evaluating Pyron’s capabilities before the game. Like you said, perhaps there was a lesson learned.
Key and his staff have consistently kept things quiet and vague regarding injuries to key players. Part of this is HIPAA compliance, another aspect may be simply to avoid giving our opponents any tactical advantage through knowledge of player availability. I know it drives curious fans nuts, but I’d rather not give away anything opponents could use to their advantage.

When it comes to players with injuries this is where Key's old OL mentality has been a small issue. He trusts a guy to say whether or not they can go.

This bears repeating as most fans don't seem to understand what is bolded. It is up to the player to permit confidential health information to be publicly acknowledged/released.

According to former UGA QB Buck Belue on Atlanta's 680 the fan earlier today, Mike Bobo is rumored to be stepping down for health reasons.

Starts around 35:00. Faulkner likes the autonomy under Key, likes King returning (Buck calls him a top-5 QB), has concerns about UGA’s QB room, and doesn’t like how UGA fans ran Mike Bobo out of town
