Kelly was talking about it after the VT game. You can go back to his YouTube channel and listen for yourself.

Not my favorite coverage of GT, but he is connected with the coaching staff. Those numbers reportedly came from a coach. Take it for what it is.
When I hear numbers like that thrown around, I wonder how in the world are they measuring that. It's one of those subjective estimates that is meaningless. All that was needed to be said was that he had some injuries but was still able to play. 40% of what? Speed, arm strength, ankles, hand, pass velocity, whatever?

Heard from a very reliable source that ZP had a prior hammy injury and sustained a shoulder injury in the first game he played. The same injury that HK had. He was banged up pretty badly this season, too. There’s a reason Philo played the entire NCSU game.

I have no doubt he had injuries. I just don't know how they came up with those numbers.

Off hand I’d just say someone tossed some numbers out. The hammy didn’t keep him from starting, though it hampered his ability to cut and run. The shoulder injury rendered him ineffective. Recall that we had multiple RB’s out at that time as well.

At end of year i really like how he changed the offense for philo as injuries made him last manstanding. Philo is good at scramble on pass rush, but not as good a runner as king.

Also, he brought up a few of number 2 wide receivers who philo knew well. He carried over more pure pass plays to uga.

In last kdy has said wants to have offense that all our qbs can run. Dont want toob pass heavy and too run heavy

25 will be the return of the RB room.
Then Faulkner leaves as the hot topic

RIGHT NOW, IMO, King is the better all around QB and brings intangibles that comes from playing multiple years. I also believe that Philo is the better pure passer...even when King is healthy. Philo will be special when it's all said and done. It's still King's team, and it's not even close. Next year is going to be a special year for GT football, and once King leaves, he'll have laid the foundation for Philo to keep GT's FB program in special tier.

I think both will play next year. HK has durability issues. Philo can flat out fling the ball.

On .any throws our qb were slow to pull the trigger. We threw very few contested balls.
Philo in ncst on THE FILM GUY got flagged for that. Last year King was late a lot.

King was slinging it at Athens.

Only issue with philo is the offense relies on qb being a run threat

Yes, his last run for the TD against NCSU was a run with purpose!

This is most likely the scenario that happens. It's not as much durability issues with King as much as it's his inability to throttle down and avoid running through brick walls. Dude just doesn't have an off switch when it comes protecting himself...and it's both a good thing and a bad thing. That's why he's so loved by everyone, but also why we cross our fingers when he runs in traffic. He's going to fight for every inch, and he's going to lower his shoulders to go through defenders.

Our offense has become too reliant on King. And when he plays well we win. But when he does not or when he is injured we lose, hence 7-6. Buster needs to figure out his wrinkles and schemes because everyone knows what is coming from our offense. It’s good, but predictable. That’s why when Philo came in all of sudden the defense was lost.

Top tier teams have multiple ways to win so we need get to that point where special teams, defense, and our run game can win a game for us when our QB struggles. The bowl game was a perfect example or where we are. Our QB played decently but no other unit stepped up and we lost yet another winnable game.

Buster did pretty for Philo against NCST in his first start as a True Freshman QB.

His plays were not the same as the ones King used that game.

Philo didn’t do a good job of reading his keys and going to the right receiver. Much of what he did was instinctual. When he gets to where he’s reading his keys properly, the combination of that with those instincts will push him to the next level if he isn’t hurt.

King has the head for it and the intangibles, but he’s been beaten up a lot. If his body doesn’t let him get to the next level, he’s going to be a hell of a coach.

Both QB’s are good but I’ll take a healthy HK all day long. I love the dudes QB play.

King really needs to learn how to hold onto the ball when he momentarily gets knocked unconscious
