I like NYC, maybe its a good opertunity for a lot of the guys to spend some time in a great city. That is part of the fun of a bowl game is the epericence. I just hope that whereever we go the team has a great time.

Yes, the Pinstripe Bowl would be a fun trip for the players - not so much for fans, except those who want to experience NYC in the winter/Christmas.

For fans however, there is plenty to dislike about NYC. Mostly in the category of crimes, dirt/filth, and the occasional disruptive demonstrations that are occurring these days. Not to mention the expense....goodness, that is an expensive city!

it’s going to be a weird crossover of people that would be excited about the pinstripe bowl (which I am a part of). It’s going to be people who want to visit the city, and baseball fans who want to see a football game in the stadium.

you really think the Gator would pick us to play an 8-4 team when there are 7 team 8 if you add ND that have 7 or more wins.
Hell, I'm just happy we will play in a bowl game after that last guy who was here.

FSU vs. Oklahoma in last years Cheese-it Bowl in Orlando. OU was 6-6, FSU was 9-3. It was a close game, FSU came back and won in the 4thQ. Tennessee would bring a big turn-out and so would we because of proximity and our first bowl appearance in a while

Sending us NY for the Pinstripe would guarantee that bowl game having a very low attendance, especially if it's against Rutgers. Charlotte or Birmhingham makes more sense.

I’m hoping for Auburn in Charlotte. Neither of us have ever played in that bowl, historic rivalry, and driving distance for both. Think it’d be well attended.

Expensive yes, but flights are cheap. As far as crime goes- statistically they are way down the list. Obviously you have to be smart about when and where you go just like Atlanta.

Charlotte is always looking for a school from NC first - so NCST, UNC and Duke are likely all higher on their list than GT. I suspect VT will be higher on their list than GT as well.
Clemson is one they would like as well if they are available when they select.

NYC is like any large US city, need to know where not to go; especially after dark and after midnight. My wife and I have loved going there.

I go to NYC multiple times a year, and usually have a wonderful time there. I’ve never had an issue with crime there, and I don’t even remember any panhandling. I’ve used the subway and LIRR on almost every trip.

The closest I’ve come to crime is jogging through a spot where a Law & Order episode was shot

Completely forgot about Notre Dame too. They’ll get a Florida bowl, so you’ll be left with us, Miami, Duke, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech as the 7-5/6-6 teams vying for the Pinstripe, Sun, Duke Mayo, Military, and Birmingham/Gasparilla/First Responder. So there is a chance we get bumped to Tier 2. My guess is it goes:

- Duke Mayo: Duke (they always take a NC team if possible, and Duke hasn’t played there since 2012)
- Pinstripe: Georgia Tech (we’re the only ones of the group who have never played in the Pinstripe)
- Military: Miami (have never played there. Closest team is VT, but they’ve been there twice in the past 10 years)
- Sun: VT (haven’t played there since 2013)
- Gasparilla: Syracuse (game is in Tampa and you know Syracuse has a lot of snowbird alums down in Florida)

Sun will get Miami and match them against USC in a TV ratings game. None of the Pac-12 bowls want USC because they know Caleb WIlliams is going to sit out.

Duke's Mayo probably wants Virginia Tech to be honest and with Duke's coach leaving could see that happening. That's a wildcard and I think GT could be in the mix there.

ND, Clemson, NC State, and UNC are getting the ReliaQuest, Gator, Holiday and Pop Tart bowls in some order. I think we can stop speculating about those games.

I also go to NYC ~ 4 times a year and the crime issue is overblown. Subways are dependable and generally safe - would not ride late at night by myself but that is typical anywhere. More concerned about the weather. Will be there for Christmas the 22-28th visiting my daughter and family but will extend the trip a day if we go to the Pinstripe.

NYC streets after dark feel 1000x more safe than Atlanta streets after dark.
