Attrition and Scholarship Limits

If that's what you define as processing, then, yes, everyone processes kids.

But that's your definition of processing. I would define processing as forcing the kid out by cutting his scholarship. As I said earlier in the thread, everyone needs to be working from with the same definition of terms.

I don't think anyone is in favor of doing the second thing you said, nor is that how it is generally done. I think most everyone has said they are ok with it the way Milwaukee has explained it, which is how it actually works.

Which makes the very existence if this debate a curious anomaly, indeed.

Lol

Ffs man you are a piece of work. Here we go, the coaches call the players into their office and give them the speech about how they're simply not going to see the field if they stay. Player decides to leave. You're okay with that, correct? You with me so far? Good.

If that player still wants to stay he doesn't kick them off the team and say "Go home" lol. Do you realize the publicity that would get? Now for the umpteenth time what the coach does is have that same conversation with as many players AS POSSIBLE until one of them leaves. That is called processing, and it's normal. I think you'd like to think it's rainbows and sunshine and the coach is just looking out for the player. But what the coach is doing is freeing up a scholly for a better prospect. And those little "sitdowns" will go on until the coach gets that extra spot he needs. The part that is most amusing is that this is commonplace and 3 or 4 of you act like we're speaking French.

If you still have any further questions I'm sure I'll be swarming until about 10pm or so.

Except @Whiskey_Clear had links to exactly the behavior you say died not happen anywhere. You then stated that GT does the same things that you say don't happen anywhere.

This wasn't really a debate, this was more like @Milwaukee & @Ibeeballin mopping the floor with about 3 cats.

I was a little winded from that earlier victory lap but I guess I'll throw on the ultra boosts and go jog another one.

And don't forget to tip your waitress. Lmao ;)

Stop trying to mop floors and actually read posts and links before flapping your gums and you won’t appear so dense. I’ve said two or three times directly to you in this thread that we appear to have different definitions of processing. Then you proceeded to attempt to argue that and many points I and others made even after clarifying our points.

When that failed to help you I then posted specific links to help display this to you further. But you still apparently don’t get it or refuse to.

It’s like you think you are on a debate team in this thread and are scratching and clawing for some reason to claim victory.

Read this last sentence slowly and carefully please. We have different definitions of what “processing” is.

Ok, so that is your definition. Now, can you prove that any coach or any school is doing it that way? What poor @Milwaukee has been trying to explain to folks is that the process is the same everywhere. Now, maybe some coaches call more players into their office for that conversation at the end of the year than others? Probably so.

It's not the same everywhere. Some coaches flat out pull scholarships based on performance. It's a huge distinction.

Would you be ok with CGC telling one of our players I am refusing to renew your scholarship because you no longer fit my plans?

No.

And I don't believe anyone has suggested such, nor do I take your word that is how it is done elsewhere. Why risk bad pr to yank a scholly when you can get the same result 99.9 percent of the time with just a conversation?

If I am wrong and this is a widespread thing, sure go ahead and mark me down as a no. It isn't even necessary to achieve your roster management objectives.

But the phony medicals are a well known thing. Coaches shouldn’t be allowed to buy extra schollies when guys don’t pan out.

Privately, however, it happens a good bit at the factories.

First, you say this with zero proof.

Second it doesn’t pass the smell test. For this to happen a “good bit” there would have to be a “good bit” of players who would rather be on the scout team with zero chance of playing at a factory instead of transferring to another school where they have a shot to play.

I have a coworker who had a son that played for USCe under a well known coach. His son lost his scholarship because he fell off the depth chart. That certain "beloved" coach flat out told him his scholarship was not being renewed. Another coworkers sons played for uga and GaSo. The one who played for uga never lost his scholly, but a buddy of his did, so when the time came for son two to play, he wouldn't even let the uga recruiter call him.

Interesting tidbit, we actually were recruiting son two hard as a back up, and offered him PWO but he went with GaSo over several P5 offers. Loved the coach who was fired after his freshman year. This last bit is why I'm big on protecting player scholarships.

Does anyone know how our CGC is going to handle it here at Georgia Tech?

Why don’t one of y’all ask him, and post his answer here.
