Yesterday the Braves got relief pitcher Brad Brock and didn't have to give up anything for him
Teheran wasn't fantastic, but he turned in a decent start that should have been better if the home plate umpire was consistent. The Braves lead the Marlins 5-3 in the 6th inning
At least the bats came to play tonight and hopefully will get Julio a winTeheran wasn't fantastic, but he turned in a decent start that should have been better if the home plate umpire was consistent.
Teheran was the winning pitcher and Chen was the losing pitcher. The 56-47 2nd place in the NL East Atlanta Braves win 5-3 over the 46-62 5th place in the NL East Miami Marlins. The winning pitcher for the Braves is 5-1 Shane Carle and the losing pitcher for the Marlins is 2-6 Elieser Hernandez
I fixed it I was watching WWE RAW and the Braves at the same timeTeheran was the winning pitcher and Chen was the losing pitcher.
I can't figure out that trade eitherWatching Julio last night, especially early in the game, he would constantly get behind in the count and then groove a fastball ... BAM !
That being said, good comeback win ! Like I said before I think Julio is a good teammate and is giving all he's got, but I just think he's lost some of his movement on his fastball.
Not sure about this Adam Duvall trade, I know we needed a right-handed bat but, ... he's batting .205 so far this year and has a career batting average of .233 ??
I really liked the trade. It was a win-win for both teams. Wisler, Sims, and Tucker didn't have futures with us and Wisler and Sims were blocking better pitching prospects. They could still turn out to be decent pitchers for the Reds, but they were no longer valuable to us. On the other hand, we get a power bat that is a really good corner outfielder who can also play 3rd and 1st (so he can spell Freddie a game or two). Duvall doesn't hit for average, but he has hit 30+ HRs with 90+ RBIs the last 2 years and he has 15 HRs with 61 RBIs this year. He is also cheap and has 3 years of control left. He is insurance for us in case we don't sign Markakis or another big time outfielder in the offseason. It was all around a good trade.Watching Julio last night, especially early in the game, he would constantly get behind in the count and then groove a fastball ... BAM !

Let’s not forget Duvall was an All-Star in 2016, has been up for a gold glove, is affordable, like the other three pick-ups.
In essence, the Braves gave up 750k in International Bonus Pool money they aren’t going to use next year and seven players they won’t probably need in 2019 either. They add four pieces to a roster on a playoff march.
Gausman takes heat off of using Fried and Allard. Brach, Venters from having to go to those gas cans named Sam Freeman, Moylan or Luke Jackson. Duvall is versatile as a corner OF or corner IF. He can start vs. lefties in LF, while Acuna moves over to CF-allows Ender to take a seat until the late innings when a righty comes in and we need a base stolen in a tie game.
