Nice job by Keuchel, he is really looking good, including pitching out of trouble.
Markakis back on Friday is a huge deal for us, looks like Snitker is going to put him in left and keep Joyce in right, I like it !
Mike, pitching match-ups for the Nats series don't look too bad to me. Soroka gets a second chance at Scherzer, Folty has been looking good lately and Fried is sure to bounce back from his last outing ...

Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte likely won’t return until the last week of September, David O’Brien of The Athletic suggests. Inciarte has been on the shelf since mid-August with a hamstring strain. It’s the second long-term injury of the year for Inciarte, who previously missed two months with a back issue. Inciarte had been amid a hot streak when he suffered his current ailment, as his OPS skyrocketed from .605 to .740 in the month between his IL stints.

Strasburg picked up his NL leading 17th win last night. Braves won't see him this weekend....again until Game1 of NLDS. ;)

....see what I did there?

Whoa, Fredo is breaking news. Apparently the Nads are gonna release Strasburg? And he's gonna somehow sign with the Braves?

Weird move by the Nads but I guess it would be nice to have a familiar face for Rendon when he signs here this summer.

See what I did there?
:D

In Dallas Keuchel's last 6 starts he's 5-0 with a 0.97 ERA:wideyed:
I’m so glad you posted this. I’ve defended him on here, almost have had to since his signing in June. Also, a debate on who is the staff ace? Unless he falls apart in his last few starts, I truly believe Snitker anoints him the first game starter(he has indicated such previously, that Dallas leads for the designation). He’s the only pitcher presently with Atlanta, that is allowed to override the coaches on shifting defenders in the field.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Fried and Soroka just as much as you gents. However if the Braves have a 1, 5 or a 1,4,7 guy, it’s Keuchel.

if i'm reading the standings correctly, it looks like we can eliminate both mets and phillies from division race tonight while pulling within two of those pesky dodgers who keep threatening our HFA ...

Well said. After his little swoon, dude has been locked in. Anybody see his comments about Phillies management? Basically said he bets they're second-guessing themselves for not signing him or stte. Hehe.

Lastly, can I go 'head and say something else? The Braves have 4 teams vying for a playoff spot in division. Meanwhile, the Dodgers have been dominating 3 teams who are pretty much turds and AZ who's decent.

The Braves should get a lot more credit for being at their heels at this point in the season.

ETA: And another thing .. Gabe Kapler looks like that typical guy who chews his gum all hard to make himself look like a tough guy. What a clown.

Buzz, admittedly I didn't really know a whole lot about Keuchel before he got here.
The thing that impressed me about him last night is that when he got into trouble he didn't panic and pitched his way out of it.
Maybe that's credit to his experience level, which will definitely be an asset in the post-season ... and I may be changing my mind about him being the #1 starter.

I think Gabe will be fired when the Phillies go 81-81. I think Gabe Kapler will wind up managing the Giants in 2020 because he's a long time friend of the Giants GM.
