I know I shouldn't be upset about this anymore but it's just galling when you're a fan of a team that (presumably) doesn't flatout pay guys and suffer because of it:

Honestly if loserville did what UNC did I think they could've stonewalled the ncaa & be right where miller & zona are with slick rick. Course they really haven't lost much with Mack as HC.

FWIW, here is a podcast from Dan Wetzel (who is at the trial), Pete Thamel and Pat Forde.
Not much in the way of analysis, but if you want 40 min of laughing you can get it here.

The big takeaway is that very few people are actually covering the trial and that they feel absolutely nothing is going to change in college basketball.

Good for the University of South Carolina, representing the $EC well - welcomed Bowen with open arms. They are in the correct conference.

One of the guys we are chasing in basketball right now is looking heavily at Oklahoma State. Until the kids and their families stop going to the schools that cheat, why should they change? Its not like the NCAA cares.

Is it not qualified though? What does it take to warrant the destruction of a program these days? FFS Baylor is currently one of the most consistent programs in the country right now.

I'm not sure what warrants the destruction of a program. Since it hasn't happened since the '80s I don't think it will happen anytime soon. If it does ever happen again I'd imagine it would take an SMU situation of multiple years getting caught paying players, going on probation for it, getting caught paying more players, going on longer probation, then getting caught again with the actual ledger of their payroll being introduced as evidence.

If GT is not teaching our students that powerful people still get their way, then they are only doing part of what they need to be doing. The NCAA is no different than any other enterprise. Money looks after money. You guys are smart people, so this should be obvious. Cleveland State can be on probation, but not Kentucky or Louisville or Duke or North Carolina.
