Even against Clemson, prior to Thomas going out, and UCF they looked good.

If Sims doesn’t get hurt against Duke, I 100% believe we are playing in Charlotte and probably have a decent chance at winning. This is a deceptively good team led by that defense.

I'm not sure how you'd argue this point. We had a few breakdowns today like the 1st play that was awful
, but overall the scheme he runs & what the players are doing individually has been solid.

He might well be. Just because he stunk as a head coach doesn't mean he's a bad DC.

I’m not sure Thacker hasn’t earned a shot to stick around next year no matter who the coach is. Whether we retain Key or go in another direction. I think Thacker understands we don’t have the athletes to cover 1 on 1 on the outside most of the time, so the pressures and coverages be dials up are heavily weighted risk/reward. We force a lot of turnovers, and have been very disruptive at time, even without superior athletes on the DL. After watching this game I definitely think Thacker was the mastermind behind the defensive performance against UNC last year as well, and Collins got too involved in some of the other games and blew it all up.

Thacker is doing “more with less” on the defensive side of the ball to win games just like we are going to strive to do on offense if we want to be a nationally relevant program.
