Clemson DT Dexter Lawrence is going to remain suspended for the National Championship Game against Alabama
Is that allowed?Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi has fired OC/QB Coach Shawn Watson and WR Coach Kevin Sherman
The problem is.....if they expand the playoffs, the rest of the bowl games will quickly fade away.....some will argue that is a good thing, but there is a tremendous amount of revenue generated from televising those events and that is shared by the members of the leagues. Adding a few extra games will not make up for the lost $$$$....Gotta hope the big1 and Pac12 keep getting left out regularly. Otherwise there will be no impetus to expand.

as well as the void in interest by the lack of games during the holidays.
It will also diminish the interest and drama in the whole selection process, further removing "fans" attention.
The teams may want it....but without the TV revenue.....they won't happen. You expand the playoffs and interest in bowls games will drop like a rock.I actually don't think they will all go away, just some of the less profitable ones. There will still be a desire for teams to participate in the post season, so all the non-playoff teams will fill the bowl slate for their glorified scrimmages while the playoff teams play meaningful games.

The first to go will be the Bahamas Bowl since only 400-500 people go to that Bowl Game yearlyThere is always a market for college football. That's why these crappy bowls exist. It will drop some, but bowls as a whole will exist.
Isn't that the identical argument that was used against the basic idea of a playoff from time immemorial? Looks to me like the bowls are surviving just fine, thank you very much. The teams may want it....but without the TV revenue.....they won't happen. Because the semi finals are technically bowl games and their is a plus one. Expand it further, and move them to college campuses, and it will be the end of most bowls.Isn't that the identical argument that was used against the basic idea of a playoff from time immemorial? That was an incredibly poorly thrown ball by Tua.Clemson 7-0 over Alabama in the 1st quarter of the National Championship Game on a 45 yard interception return for a touchdown by Clemson
