I hate to see that. Colson is a helluva player. Really enjoy watching him play and was looking forward to seeing him on the 10th.

Not surprised UVA beat VT, but surprised at the score. They just destroyed them. VT was running up the score against most teams but in its first 2 ACC games has failed to crack 60. They are a little live by the three die by the three.

ND just demolished NCST without Colson and without Matt Ferrell for most of the game (he hurt his ankle late in the first half). It looks like Keatts is determined to play his style despite not having a roster that is well fit to execute it. Without Johnson they really struggle with their press allowing opponents alot of easy shot attempts.
Great job of ND adjusting without 2 of their best players last night - though it gets harder the longer you have to go without them and the more film opponents get of you playing without them.
Wonder how long Ferrell will be out.

Clemson has been fantastic this year and Grantham is finally living up to his billing. Never bet against a team with a coach on a hot seat. They should know about whether they get Zion Williamson in 2 weeks as he has set a Jan 20th announcement date.

VT got out-styled in their first 2 ACC games. UVA and Cuse are #1 and #2 in slowest pace of play in the league. They also have two of the best D's in the league, and VT got jammed. VT doesn't really have a low post go-to this year that I've seen, which lends itself to the live by the 3, die by the 3 that you mention. I'm not sure they have an easy way to adjust against teams that know how to take away their guard strength.

Coach Brey - feel free to take as much time as you need to get Ferrell healthy. Don't rush him back. You would definitely want him back for UNC.

With no Colson and no Ferrell ND is without it's top 2 scorers, its top rebounder, top assist man, most prolific outside shooter, top shotblocker, top steal man.
one of those 2 guys is basically the top guy in every statistical category.

NC ST has not looked good against teams with a pulse since Johnson was suspended. Their defense against ND was atrocious. Keatts is determined to run his high pace, press defense, but I don't think he has the players to do it, especially without Johnson. They are giving up a ton of open shots both in close and from deep. once they got behind they really sort of abandoned any offense and started to play hero ball with the expected results of lots of bad shots leading to good opportunities for ND. Without Johnson their offense really doesn't have much flow. Guys like Yurtseven and Abu are not really designed to play high pressure D.

I think Keatts is going to be interesting to watch at NCST. He will recruit really well there. I do remember having a conversation with Hewitt about 3-4 yrs into his tenure where he mentioned that the biggest thing he learned was you couldn't press nearly as much in the ACC as he could when he was at Siena, especially in road ACC games. Most teams had good enough players to handle the press, especially on their home floor and it led to alot of good scoring opportunities for opponents. His system really relies on generating alot of offense through pressure defense. Teams that can handle it will put up big numbers.

Miami tried to press late and GT was able to score on its last 6 shot attempts because most of them were layups.
