The difference in culture between Ga's program & FSU's is striking. Ga could have had tons of opt outs, as most teams do. They could have hung their heads about not being in the CFP after winning it all 2 years in a row. Nope; they're there to "finish well." Kudos.

FSU on the other hand cried and stomped their feet and filed suit to leave their conference. They've clearly quit, from the administration on down. Shame on them, and IMO they've only begun to reap what they've sown.

Fk UGA. FSU was dealt an unprecedented blow. It's a shame they didn't show up but I'm not gonna dance on their grave to prop up that other team.

One can enjoy FSU reaping what they've sown without propping up the other team. They don't need propping anyway lol.

No it’s not. Everyone knows what’s happening. That won’t stop the SECheat Narrative machine, but anybody with half a brain knows this is a sham. F$U is the loser in all this. Their program rep is now trashed.

I appreciate this and can totally see the pov from FSU trying to screw over ESPN and TV ratings

But it's really backfiring at least on the socials

It’s a shame UGA is doing it, but FSU is getting their just rewards. They are now officially the nation’s laughing stock. The punchline for every joke for the next year will be FSU.
Yep, and they traded a shot at a perfect record and some possible MNC votes.

Logical. Why risk anything it this silly game?

It will be interesting to see how the "mercenary" mentality plays out in college football. Kids who have NFL potential, that were paid to leave their school and play elsewhere, what kind of loyalty do they really have to a team they've been with for a year? They've already been paid to play that year, so do they really want to risk injury and NFL money to play in a meaningless bowl game with guys they barely know?

Look at QB Sam Hartman. By all reports, he's a high character guy who was adored by his teammates at Wake Forest. Notre Dame famously paid him (a reported) $1million+ to play for them this season. He opted out of playing at the Sun Bowl but still showed up and watched from the sidelines.

The problem with saying that the game is completely pointless is that it *isn't* since CFB is still heavily influenced by human pollsters and media. There's gonna be blowback for this in terms of how people perceive FSU at the start of next year. And everyone who opted out to transfer out may well end up in a worse spot anyway, so there truly is a lot to lose for both program and players - both on the field and in the portal - even without there being an official championship trophy at stake.
