I don't live in Atlanta and don't listen online much, but I have heard Dukes and Bell before and like their show. I LOVED listening to the Stews when I was at Tech. Their banter during GT/Miami week was always fun since Doug is a Canes fan.

I stopped listening to sports talk years ago. One of the last segments I recall was Chuck O being unable to list the ACC teams in the Coastal division in the course of trying to discuss the conference. He couldn't get the Atlantic right either and couldn't even name every team in the conference. The lack of professionalism (I don't really care about the bias aspect) was what told me all I needed to know.

I cannot understand why GT's own station can't carry the games! I don't listen to sportstalk (or any kind of talk) regularly anyway; I stream 680 (or try to, anyway) for the games only.

Can someone please explain to me why WREK -- 100,000 watt station, clear as a bell with 24-7 online streaming as well --

I work for another university that owns a radio station. Licensing regulations for educational stations like WREK and ours, WBCX, severely limit the ability to deliver commercial programming.

Happened to listen to the 5 o'clock hour or at least the first 20 minutes of it. Same song and dance. They talk about how Tech has opportunities but always flub them. Then they went on to belittle how if we win tomorrow and we run our table that puts us in the ACC title game against FSU with two losses...CU and UGA were the losses. ACC title game was no big deal to them. If it were the sec title game its huge for georgia but...whatever. I don't even know why i listened in...i think i just like the torture sometimes.

I don't tune in often any more......Only time I ever hear anything approaching insightful on 680 is when they have a guest on. Screw 680.

92.9 seems to mostly be about pro football, which is ok, better than constantly hearing about the dwags. I don't listen to the morning show, can't stand Randy Cross, but the one after that is ok, that dude with Jamie Dukes hammers Rev Richt and ugag mercilessly. And Dukes and Bell is a decent show, which is weird because Dukes was horrible with his previous castmates, and I can't get enough of Bell's Jim Rome imitation

Carl Dukes on 92.9 just gave us a vote of confidence, and even played the fight song. Level-headed sports talk, although sometimes they get stupid. At least they don't just write us off.

I heard that also... I actually like Dukes and Bell. They did say that we tend to win and get the excitement up... just to lose to UNC or Virginia the next week. Which is right on the money. Hate to admit it. We need to get a Tech guy on the inside. Who will prop us up and make sure that the others dont bash like they do now. I really could care less if they talk us up... Just keep our name, out yo mouth, if you cant say something decent.

I listened to 680 the fan (The Front Row show) on the way in to work this morning. I just wanted to see how they handled the GT - Miami game. Well, was I surprised Steak Shapiro had nothing but nice things about Georgia Tech as did the rest of his cohorts. They talked almost a whole 60 seconds (a lot on radio) about how great this win was for the program and Tech looks like they're for real, etc., etc. They were respectful and contrite and I wonder if someone has talked to them about their constant disrespect and trashing of Georgia Tech. I'm having a problem believing that they were sincere, but they were certainly giving it a good try.

Yeah and steak went on to say he was taking his 2 kids to the Duke game. I guess it's now a good thing to go to Tech game, we've bene officially anointed by the great one himself :ROFLMAO:
