Another schedule update. Matchups at McCamish against North Florida and Texas Southern. This is scheduled for early-mid November (Texas Southern likely 11/12, North Florida potentially 11/9?):

Didn’t see your last post. Sorry to repeat

Insider, KQ interviews CDS & players as summer practice ends. Some takes on how team is looking in advance of 2024-25. Reported behind JOL paywall @ Rivals, but also free on X”.

Hearing that Doryan isn't ready to be a Day 1 contributor is kind of disappointing but probably not unexpected - I think Baye set a pretty high bar last year for us. I'm also not surprised that Moose and Sutton sounds like the real deal. Also sounds like Lance Terry is still Lance Terry and O'Brien is expected to play a big role. The defensive improvements the team is anticipating would be very welcome too.

Is Jaeden Mustaf called Moose?

Not too much info from coach in that presser. Emphasizing defense in a big way in the Summer, trying to prepare Nait and Baye to avoid Sophomore slumps (which will be important, to say the least), referred to last season as a "scramble," which I think is quite descriptive. Sounds like James Forrest was brought in as an ambassador of sorts for GT athletics. Wasn't that actually James Forrest's nikname while a player here, "The Ambassador?" Greg Gary sounds more like coach's personal consigliere.

Important season for coach and the program.

This has probably been discussed, but I couldn't find the answer... is the roster set? I was thinking we had one more spot since Cole moved back to 2025?

It was my impression that, since we didn't use the final scholly, the that son of an WNBA player, 6-7 wing Dyllan Thompson would join the team with the scholly as opposed to being a walk-on.

So, erase any thoughts about whether George or McCollum will be the starting PG. Or, if the title of PG really matters to CDS.

I loved the quote where he says GT will have one of the best backcourts in the country.
It sure isn't the backcourt that would be a problem esp on OFF.Its the 3-4 spot that will be the challenge and DEF REbs.Of course also if Baye fouls out things also get very interesting.
If Reeves gets his 3 pt shot it will be a sweeter season.
