If we had a stadium with over 100K seats and we put butts in every one week after week I bet we would have more than 5 home games.
F$U and ND were both home games this year. Still, we played GSU, VMI, Dook, Miami, and NCSU at BDS. That’s 7 games that were supposed to be at home.

If we had UGAg at home this year we would have had 8. I think we tend to schedule to spread those our to smooth out our attendance.

We used to play u(sic)ga and clempson at home (by home I mean BDS) in the same year. We asked clempy to play at death valley back to back years to ‘levelize’ the home schedule.

Lately we outsource our best home game(s) away from BDS. We can argue about chickens or eggs but it’s clear we don’t want to play many meaningful games at BDS.

Oh, okay. Reminds me of a "typo" I saw in the local Athens paper once, a headline about Ugag going to the "O'Ahu Bowl" as if the game in Hawaii was named after an Irishman.
Engineer thru and thru…
Don’t pay attention to headings, colors formatting, etc… that’s for the marketing folks.
Show me raw data or you’re lying!

Eh, you're too kind. I'm hardly an engineer - actually, I went to Ugag, which perhaps provides a somewhat less sanguine explanation...
At times I can look right through something and not see it.

He got hired by Venables at Oklahoma, who has seen him coach at Tech, and is a defensive guru. He’s doing something that people respect. It’s not working out though.
I think this is my point. There are coaches who are good at what they do -teaching sound technique, imparting game awareness to players, understanding Xs and 0s, and that puts them above coaches who aren’t as good at that and who aren’t good teachers and who eventually don’t make it in the business. And there are only so many coaches like that to go around for potentially hundreds of coaching positions.

But then there are the rare coaches, who not only can do that, but also can win. There might be 10 of these at best in college in any given year. I think it was Bear Bryant who said (paraphrasing) that Bobby Dodd could take your players in exchange for his players and still beat you. We could probably name most of these types of coaches over the last 150 years. There aren’t many.

I think there’s always an opening for coaches like Roof but any program looking for that extra special winning edge will eventually move on.

Like I said, coaching is hard.
