I was wrong about Tennessee.

It sure appears there are no dominant teams this year. Just having quality players is not enough. Teams with quality coaches who have been with the program for awhile have an advantage, especially if the staff is fairly stable.

Miami may be going down tonight. Unfortunately, this will probably get the usual interpretation of the ACC not being good.

My hope is that Texas is as good as advertised because Georgia still has all the pieces that a team needs to take it all the way.

I hope Cal stops the Cam Ward for Heisman and Miami for National Champions hype machine. We can put a definitive end to it all in a few weeks.

They have looked like a completely different team offensively since Jennings became the starting QB. They don't play either Miami or Clemson.

In about an hour and a half Army could have the longest winning streak in FBS. They are currently tied with Missou with 8 straight wins. Duke is next with 7 straight wins.
(Missou is currently down 24-0 at halftime to A&M, Army is up 21-7 on Tulsa).

SMU is for real. They are really good offensively. They could end up in the championship game.

Crazy as it seems… Clemson VS SMU is the ACC champs game. Prepare yourselves.

Cal outgained FSU by 100+ but sucked at finding the EZ, FSU may end the year lucky to have won win at this rate

officially rooting for an SMU-Cal ACCCG.

(I haven’t checked to see if it’s even remotely feasible schedule-wise)

He later corrects and says they’re actually 1-8 as he forgot a game Northwestern lost @ Washington. This was after Michigan just lost @ Washington

Assuming Cal hangs on to win, ACC teams traveling 2+ time zones will be 2-3.
Stanford won @ Cuse, lost @ Clemson
VT won @ Stanford
Cal lost @ FSU
Miami lost @ Cal

Something to keep an eye on as the season moves on and conferences shift around. Divisional play based on actual geography may have to come back in the picture. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if we end up with a system that’s basically the conferences circa 2000

I think it is just more obvious at this moment that the difference between FBS teams is not as great as people believe. (And the SEC hypes) The hype is that some teams (every team in the SEC) is like an NFL team and other teams are like high school teams. The differences are not anywhere near that big. There are teams that are better, but there is no college team that is unbeatable. There are very few FBS teams that would have zero chance of beating the some of the top teams.

He was on top of the line, but his entire body has to be past the line for it the be a penalty.

However, there was clearly targeting and Cal should still have the ball.
