Was this directed at me? "Keep your eye on the ball" does indeed sound like Jack Hurst.Sure was, "Keep your eye on the ball" was his signature sign off.

Looks like we may have lost more important games wearing blue than we have won.
I’ve seen less arguing about clothes between my wife and daughter.
I’m going to repost what I posted on the earlier pages of this thread. The numbers on this jersey... . Best color on a uniform in a while

Wow this is really a 520+ post thread

Actually, I was the one who referenced Hurst. That's why I asked if you meant to direct it to me.Point of order, that was his signature sign off of his weekly radio program devoted to all things sports in ATL. I think it was on WQXI back in the day. No, it was not directed at you or anyone else. His is referencing Mr. Hurst.
Uniforms man, uniforms. As a fan base, we are more concerned about shade of gold, blue pants, gold helmets, white helmets, stingers, gold jerseys, white jerseys and so forth than any fan base in the country. Its what we do at the Institute.
Got it.Actually, I was the one who referenced Hurst. That's why I asked if you meant to direct it to me.
That is very close to Old Gold pants. I think. Pretty cool color scheme I have to admit. With gold pantsView attachment 5242
I grew up listening to him do the Tech games, and Ed Thellinius doing the mutt games. Two GREAT announcers.Got it.
That is by far our best uniform combination. Classic GT look. Even more than gold jerseysSo this uniform is not good enough in representing our colors?

The white and gold together at the bottom of your post lacks visual “pop”. That’s a big no-no in graphic design and corporate identity/logo design. There’s just not enough contrast for the casual observer to notice it and have it stand out from any background visual noise. It also creates big problems trying to read numbers and names on jerseys at a distance in a stadium. That is why navy blue and sometimes black is used as trim or outlines.
It doesn’t help that Tech gold is a muted version of the color. Many people hated the darker mustard gold but it had better pop against white and I think that’s part of the reason why it was used in the past.
If you can't define what "pop" is then it's probably not a real thing. I think you're just opening up the old "shade of gold" argument which is an ancillary argument to how the two colors should be used. Agree that dark navy blue should always be used for a border color to provide contrast.
