If Mel Tucker becomes UT head coach put all your money on Oklahoma because there could be defensive disarray for UGAG;)
For sure and Kirby would have to hold his tongue because he did the same thing to Bama when he came to UGA so it would be/hypocrisy to do less than that. Always better to be the poacher and not the team being poached. Guess we will know soon. At the very least Tucker will leverage this for a hefty pay raise. Jerry McGuire comes to mind "Show me the money Kirby!"

I imagine just the fact that Tucker is entertaining the prospect of going to UT will be enough for UGA fans to get a bad taste in their mouths for him and perhaps even become a scapegoat, if needed for Smart, or under performing in the playoffs. Tucker has to be there prepared to take the offer if presented because he will have fractured trust and let it be known that he is looking for a HC position (shown his cards by interviewing especially since he took the 2nd interview). Plus he may even take some of the othe position coaching position with him. I know it is early but it may be worth popping some popcorn and watching doggie nation get all worked up over this. Lol

The 2018 UT-UGAG game in Athens in 2018 will be interesting if Tucker is coaching the Vols:LOL: Tennessee could wind up being the most hated team on UGAG's schedule:LOL::ROFLMAO::hilarious:

Most assistant coached strive to become head coaches. There shouldn’t be any bad blood for interviewing. If he took a job and left the team prior to the bowl games then there might be a problem.

I think if I were Fulmer and I hired Tucker I would want him to become head coach immediately so he could go recruiting. That would leave UGAG in a spot with an interim defensive coordinator.

I think that is an outstanding hire. I was kind of hoping that he would stay on the market until CPJ retires or gets let go so we could land Morris.
The Volnation posters are idiots they think Tennessee hiring a Coordinator at all is a lousy hire:rolleyes: They are too stupid to remember that all the great head coaches got their start as defensive or offensive coordinators:rolleyes:

3 of the 4 coaches in the playoffs this year had no HC experience and were promoted to HC from coordinators: Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney, Lincoln Riley.

A good coach is a good coach. Period.

UT coach search is almost comical. They will end up with someone really bad... Seems like all the decent coaches are gone. Who's left? Lee Corso? LOL

I think they will probably wind up with UGAG DC Mel Tucker,Auburn DC Kevin Steele or USC DC Tee Martin. There is a very good chance Tennessee will hire their first ever Black head football coach.
