Great that it's done! Here's my summary (did I miss anyone?) it's from http://www.perfectgame.org/all_americans/2015/allamerica.aspx and http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/draft/y2015/drafttracker.jsp#ft=school&fv=g :

Current players
:
AJ 14th round, #410; Spignola 31st, #923.
Good news is that King, Ryan and Gonzo are with us next year. They probably told the scouts to **** themselves. (y)
....

I know for a fact that Gonzo turned down a few low six figure offers. Figures with a good year in 2016 he'll end up with the same or better bonus number and be basically a full semester away from a GT degree. :)

Cool story on CDH's reaction to his son Carter getting drafted:
http://m.braves.mlb.com/news/article/129854192/georgia-tech-coach-hall-thrilled-to-see-son-drafted

"I'll be honest, I started to tear up when I found out," Hall said. "I think to have it happen with the hometown team makes it even more special. Carter feels the same way. He was excited. Obviously, he's going to go to school, but he was excited to be drafted and be drafted by the Braves. Now, I'm excited about the chance to coach him."

Brandt Stallings...

Maybe I've missed something in this thread or elsewhere... It appears he never got drafted? Does anyone know the back story on this?

I saw on a few sites where he was rated even higher than Tyler Stephenson who went to the Reds in the 1st round.

Just curious. I've heard and read that Brandt has a huge bat.

@IronJacket7 , Stallings is rated by Perfect Game in the top 100 and got a 10 of 10 rating from them. http://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=292197

He didn't get drafted. He's another Kel (not drafted, probably because he told the scouts he wasn't interested) ...... "Can flat out hit. Very impressive at PG National and WWBA. Big power potential"

I expect him to DH or OF next year if he is 1/2 of what Perfect Game says. We are going to have power and D next year. Just need the pitching to improve (a lot).

With his arm strength lacking, he would be better at first than the out field. JMHO Nuke

Here's Beesball.com summary - I didn't miss anyone. And it looks like we only "didn't get what we never had" in Stephenson and Carter.

But for $3.7M signing bonus Stephenson would be an idiot to come to GT....... It'll be interesting to see what bonus Hughes actually gets since the pool amount is $907,000 and his actual bonus isn't listed.

BTW, when I buy some things through Amazon, I try to remember to use Beesball link to get them a little support for the service they provide.

Finally, here's the listing of our 2015 Class and 2016 verbal commits. http://beesball.com/recruiting.html

Is there anywhere to see what school pro players were committed to before signing? For example, David Wright was committed to Tech as well as (I think) Austin Jackson. I'd like to keep up with guys that would have been Jackets. Josh Hart was a recent one who played with Kel but signed with Baltimore.

Edit: looks like Austin Jackson was coming in for basketball

@GruffyMcGuiness , I don't know of anyplace you can find where MLB players were "committed" to before they signed. Once they sign, it's like the data isn't readily available anymore as they never took that path. I had gone back to 2008 for every player who committed to GT and tracked what happened to them ..... haven't updated the spreadsheet since last year. But since 2008, here are the HS players who were committed to GT but went straight to minors (data largely from http://beesball.com/ in the right hand column there are past classes and histories, plus Perfect Game used to give for free their player rankings). So....

Draft year, player, Perfect Game ranking, MLB draft rank:

2009 Tucker Barnhart 131 MLB 299
2010 Chevez Clarke 25 MLB 30
2010 Jake Skole 35 MLB 15
2010 Alex Lavisky 109 MLB 240
2013 Josh Hart 45 MLB 37
2013 Terry McClure 47 MLB 229

Was Skole going to play baseball too? He was coming to Tech on a football scholarship.

Jake Skole did go pro and bypass GT for a $1.6M bonus. Of course, like the vast majority of drafted players out of HS, the hasn't seen the MLB yet. With a minor league batting average of .229, I'd give him a .03% (.0003 tic) chance of ever going to the MLB now. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?P=jake-skole

Was Matt Skole Jake's brother? Matt Skole went to the minors for $200K after his Jr year @ GT in 2011. Of course he hasn't seen the MLB yet either. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?P=matt-skole

If it sounds like I'm realistic {e.g. cynical to some} about the puppy mill minors, I am.

yeah, that was Matt's younger brother. If it doesn't pan out for Jake in the Minors, he could always come back and play football. Weinke was the oldest I've heard do that, but our good ole Quincy Carter did it too.

For $1.6M signing bonus, he could sock away $300k for his education if the minors don't work and still have $1.3M to play with. There's no way that's not the smarter move.

I agree that anyone getting a big bonus (>$.5M out of HS) should take it. I don't know how many years you have to give when you take the bonus .... there is no way you can get a bonus and leave after a few weeks and keep the bonus.

What is discouraging is that he has been kicking around the minors making $1500 a month (for the months he "works") and never even been in a MLB game. After the high hope with being a first round pick. It wasn't till this year when I started looking at the stats that I realized how few players every make even a single MLB game and how poorly they are paid. But it's a free country and they can do something else ..... and should ....as a taxpayers I resent MLB (and NFL) tax free status, but that's another story ...

Once you've gone pro you can't go back and play a college sport.

Matt Skole has done well in the Nats system last I looked. I think he had Tommy John and is healthy again

There are many examples of guys that went into the Minors straight from high school and then ended up going back to college and playing football. Jake was coming to Tech on a football scholarship, not baseball.

Ah, gotcha. I didn't know you could if it was a different sport. I'm surprised you don't see it happen more often, then
