I have no idea about Loy. I was giving an example of Connor being cut/losing his roster spot and thriving at another program. Like I said, not all players mesh well with coaches. They have to find their fit.

OMG are you dumb? It's expensive to pay for surgeries and rehab. Yes, GT and many other teams sign players once they are healthy. Typically 16-18 months post-op.

lol, I don't think things are going badly at all. I think GT is a very good team. I answered some questions that others have asked that do not seem to be aware of. However, the best player on the field last night was GS's lefty, throwing 97/98. It was a very energetic game, and I enjoyed...

I didn't say "ALL" pitchers get cut if injured. I said MANY have been and have shared THEIR stories with others, including the player's dad who posted about this on X. And after this year, he just may be cut.

Haha, again, he wasn't AT GT when he was injured and had TJ. He was completely healthy when he transferred to GT. Second, he was a grad transfer. So, maybe YOU are just clueless.

Matt Taylor has made progress; however, there was nowhere to go but up. The program was not good in any area of pitching by ACC standards. Taylor is very knowledgeable, and he has turned the pitching program around. He is a very hard coach to play for, and many players find him abrasive. Others...

He has pitched 3.1 innings this season so far. I will be surprised if he "stays" on the team. However, he is a lefty and can be more serviceable as such once he is healthy. One player doesn't erase the other 10, or their opinions.

GT can find them, but can't land them due to the history of pitchers being brought in, injured and then cut when they can't help the team anymore. Word has spread, and players are choosing other options.

He wanted a coaching staff that wouldn't cut him if he got injured or had a bad outing. (like the 10 from last year) He wanted coaches who don't treat their pitchers the way GT treats theirs. He was smart and reached out to several of the 10 pitchers who were at GT last year and either got cut...

GT has no lefty pitcher throwing 95-98. Shadek and Buursema are both RHP.

Recapping 2025 and Looking Ahead to 2026

Josh Evans to portal.... 10 freshmen in the portal on day 2. Always saying "we have a top recruiting class coming in," but then they all leave. DEVELOP THEM. You wanted them. You asked them to come to GT over other programs.

GT had the 2nd highest turnover roster in the ACC, behind Miami. There is no longer development of arms. How many arms are still at GT that committed there out of high school the last 2 years? Of those arms, who has developed/progressed? It's too easy to get experienced arms from the portal...

FINALLY!!! Someone else actually SEES the issue! Taylor is NOT what we need. I agree that he is a bust. He is not what people "thought" he was. And it's starting to show. Hopefully this will change in 2026 but I am afraid this season will be worse than last year with all the pitchers...

Pitching is and will be an issue under this coaching staff. They cannot get "elite arms" right now due to the inner turmoil. Zeke quit and took a job at Kent State. He worked with catchers and they loved him. Behind the scenes needs to be fixed before GT can recruit like...

A lefty topping at 86 is not getting drafted. Sorry but it's just the way that works. I said before - he is good competitor but he will not play past college unless he goes to an independent league. I think Ellis was hurt by his age. MLB teams are "typically" looking for younger guys, not 25...

    Portal Update

I understand your point of view, and I agree....to a point. Deck moving on is a good thing for everyone. Deck was well liked. I wish him the best. My position was meant that maybe another coach could come in that could help turn the program around and keep players. I wasn't being negative...
