He's proven a few things, though. He has proven that not only is he an upgrade from what we had but also that just by taking everything back to square one and re-installing basic fundamental football that we can compete with most of the ACC with the talent that was already there.
I think it's done at this point. Still if a deal isn't inked already and an announcement isn't made this weekend, Key still has a shot.
It isn't a given that other candidates will sign, so until then Key still isn't out, but he should probably be updating his resume.
Right on all counts. And yes still a lot of smoke but my point stands if he IS the hire. If he isn't then I hope he stays at Tulane, they need a good run.
Which is why I think he is actually the new HC if Georgia Tech.
And as I stated before, I am good with it. He has proven he can turn programs around and Tech isn't the disaster that Tulane was.
I would have been OK with Key, Chadwell, O'Brian. I'm just glad we didn't have to settle for...
Also the relative quality and depth of recruits that put up those 40 points per game for BoB at Bama vs the quality of players at Tech He will get and recruit.
