Even if you take the blocked punts away, they still scored double what they scored last year. Is Clemson that much better this year? I don’t know. It’s the first game of the season, but the main reason I brought up last year’s game is we played them close and had a chance to force OT AT Clemson...
The defense didn’t lose the game, but Clemson moved the ball pretty much at will the second half. Last year’s team held this offense to 14 points. I really don’t think we need to go out of our way to “give props” to anyone after losing 41-10.
I won’t say there weren’t some signs of hope, but at the end of the day we lost 41-10 and we’ve been outscored 154-16 the last four games. I have zero confidence we have the right leader to turn this around. I would LOVE to be proven wrong, though.
Waller and Megatron, for sure. Let’s be honest, who’s going to watch a documentary on our ‘14 season or 08 season that isn’t a GT fan? Great years, but not doc worthy. There has to be something unique. An angle to the story. Not just “we won 11 games in dramatic fashion”. Teams do that every year.
Nine of these games are very winnable(potentially 10, but I’ll wait and see how Ole Miss looks with the new QB), which will make it that much more frustrating if we win three games again.
It was officially listed as a neutral site game. I think our deal is less common than we think. I can’t decide if our deal having a “home” game there is a good thing or a bad thing.
You really took that personally, huh? Great players are remembered for being a part of great moments. This is sports 101. It’s nothing personal. He’s a great player and will probably have a very good career at the next level. From a strictly GT fan perspective though, I can’t say he had any...
Pretty sure he means how he’ll be remembered here at GT. I have zero fond memories of him because we won like twice with him. I don’t remember anything else
Playoff ratings have sucked for awhile. Parity is a better business model. Whether that means a super conference that is essentially a JV NFL or something else remains to be seen, but eventually something will be done because the current state of college football will continue to lose interest...
I could have been talking about the talent on our team. I could have been making a joke about how bad we’ve been the last few years. The fact that you interpreted it to automatically be about Collins is more damning for Collins than any stats users conjure up.
I don’t disagree that we didn’t get better as the season went on, but I still don’t think the UGA game is a good indicator of that. We had our backup QB playing. Our best player was “hurt” and they have what will be considered one of the best defenses of all time. I don’t think it’s fair to say...
I want Collins gone as much as anyone and think he has made us a complete embarrassment, but I think some of ya’ll put way too much emphasis on that UGA score. They won the national championship. They had one competitive game all year against a team not named Alabama. We should be more upset...
There is no world where this is a bad hire for GT. That said, I also don’t think this is something to be overly ecstatic about. It’s going to take a lot more than an offensive analysis to get us a winning record. But hey, any help is appreciated.
I don’t disagree, but it feels like some people are using the ever changing landscape of college football in regards to money as an excuse for how bad we’ve been, which I don’t really buy. I buy that as to why we’ve gotten creamed by UGA, Clemson and ND. I don’t buy that for losing to a bunch...
