And after the game CGC will go on to say how proud he is of the guys for battling hard, tipping his hat to then. Loves them. How the gagers are elite but at are progressing....
I actually think Kirby plays it smart. Treats it like an arm wrestling match with a 6 year old nephew. Makes us think we are in the game, but always in firm control. That way he keeps CGC as the head coach and knows he will never have to actually worry about Tech while CGC is here.
Yes the money guys screwed us there again.
My vote is keep the guys we have now. Nobody will want to come coach under a lame duck coach, so pair that with the fact that we are cash strapped, there's not much of a positive move we can afford.
Very well said and a good hypothesis.
The problem is risking CGC further running the program into the dirt and turning this place into Kansas or Vandy where expectations don't matter and football is an afterthought.
With that said, tell me what coordinators you'd like to see come here if...
The similarities are uncanny:
Bryan VanGorder complied a very similar record, came with a defensive background, hung around a bunch of factory/NFL teams in that capacity, talked a bunch of crap about the 3O after inheriting GASouthern.
The only difference is that GASouthern was smart enough...
Again, imo opinion, this has more to do with how bad the ACC is this year then anything.
Not saying there's no progress, but the ACC is just bad this year. That or teams have started to overlook us as an easy win. Miami was more sloppy then usual yesterday.
I wouldn't invest a single penny if CGC is still in the picture. He needs to win with what he's got or get out.
New coordinators will not help his cause, he's just not HC material.
I think it's more of how bad the ACC is this year that account for the sudden closeness of games.
If things really were improving, we wouldn't have lost to NIU.
CGC looking more and more like a dud with every game.
