Just so you know, I e already researched the Big 10 and SEC. For example Michigan State finished ranked 8 times with 3 top 10’s. While close it is slightly below our numbers without a national championship. And I think you will see Mich St is a borderline top 25 program over that period.

I don’t want you to reluctantly do anything. If you do it however, What will be in your data? I may have already done the work for you.
  3. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Believe me I don’t want to argue either. However you keep saying the data is there and I completely agree with you and it points to me being correct. For example there are 14 teams in the current BIG 10. The data says 5 programs were better than us during that span. They were 1. Neb 2...

First off, you do agree there has to be 25 programs in the top 25 right? It sounds like you don’t think that. It sounds like you think in order to be a top 25 program you must be ranked 75% of the time. You do understand by that standard there are only 10-15 top 25 programs don’t you? In order...

OK. I encourage you to challenge me instead of ignore me but if I make your time on the board less pleasant then by all means nuke me. Life is too short.
  6. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I really don’t think you have a good grasp on this. I’ve already referenced we finished in the top 25 more than Michigan State and Iowa. They were in the top half of programs in the Big 10 over that stretch. We finished in the top 25 more than South Carolina which represents the beginning of...

Right. Throw in the bowl streak, Multiple top 10 finishes and a national Champinship and we were clearly a top 25 program over that 25 year stretch in my view.
  8. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Can you point to anything I’ve said that is incorrect?
  9. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Why. Because we disagree? That in itself blows my mind.
  10. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

    That’s incorrect.
  11. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

What? Please ignore the people telling you will be a top 10 program.
  12. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Sorry. If I did it was a typo. I meant 89-14.
  13. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

So success for you is becoming Clemson? That ain’t happening.
  14. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I think it’s safe to say the years we cracked the top 15 was not because we won games like that. We are not a program that starts off ranked high for no reason. We were better than half the current SEC during that stretch. Clearly better than UK, Vandy, USCjr, Ole Miss, MSU, Ark and Mizzou...
  15. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

What? You know nothing of what you are talking about here. Do you have 25 programs that were better on the aggregate during that stretch?
  16. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

I completely disagree. I would much rather have years we made the top 15 and set up some big games that drew good crowds then never have any excitement throughout the year. Being ranked is important for the perception of the program even if you don’t end up there.
  17. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Why run away from the success of that era?
  18. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Right, but programs like Michigan State and Iowa out of the Big 10 for example finished ranked less than we did. And I think it’s foolish to believe a team that spends a decent portion of the season ranked is similar from a perspective standpoint than one that is never ranked. And College...
  19. Geoff Collins - Head Coaching Numbers

Well, that’s one metric. We were ranked at some point in 17 of 25 seasons meaning were consistently relevant and 14 of those years we got into the top 15. Look at all the metrics and you will have a hard time finding 25 programs better.
