  1. Good TV Shows?

Does anyone else watch "The Drive to Survive", which is a 10ish episode review of the previous year's F1 season with lots of first person interaction with the drivers, owners, and team principals? I think it is on Netflix. Right now, the third season is out, but I think the first two seasons...
  2. Favorite Commercials of all Time

I go back to Coke's "Hilltop" commercial with all of the 20 year old's singing while standing together at the top of a...hilltop. I was at the point of turning 7 when it was released, and it still brings tremendous feelings of nostalgia and goodness when I watch it on Youtube or when it was...
  3. Our field Surface question

Grant Field was Bermuda. Not sure which of the hybrids it was, but definitely one of the high end Bermuda's. Certainly not a cool weather grass.
  4. Our field Surface question

Context, context, context...My comments were related to the post I quoted which referenced the football field.
  5. Our field Surface question

I think the Sports Turf looks pretty good. Natural grass fields look very good in August/September, but really show the wear and shortened growing season by mid-October. Also, they require a lot of work and having concerts and other events on a natural field is a disaster both appearance and...
  6. Arrests coming due to college bball kickbacks

And maybe it is purely the sneaker pimps. But if Nike's sneaker pimps paid Zion to attend Duke because they wanted him in their shoes, that's an improper benefit to attend Duke. It doesn't have to be Coach K writing checks from his own personal account for it to be a serious NCAA violation.
  7. Arrests coming due to college bball kickbacks

The Zion stuff doesn't hold up? Really? Ain't like he's gonna come out and say "Yeah, I got money and a car, and my folks got a house." It NEVER works that way.
  8. Arrests coming due to college bball kickbacks

It would be nice if ESPN or another news source with credibility would put out some tell-all pieces on this kind of thing. I know why they won't (killing the goose and losing access), but it is ridiculous that serious violations are common knowledge (both in BB and FB) yet the story is never...
  9. Krispy Kreme on Ponce

The question I would ask is whether the physical location has moved too-far upscale to justify re-using it as a Krispy Kreme?
  10. Krispy Kreme on Ponce

The sugar high, then crash, after eating a dozen is like riding the Scream Machine.
  11. Krispy Kreme on Ponce

You were two doors down from me at the time. ;-)
  12. Krispy Kreme on Ponce

We used to go over there and buy dozens of boxes of doughnuts at $2/box and resell them in the dorm for $4/box to make money for the hall council. You can't even get 2 doughnuts at the Krispy Kreme here in Marietta for $2 now. Inflation sucks.
  13. CPJ Tweet

And completely changed the trajectory of a program. It got worse every year under BL.
  14. Heupel from UCF hired at UT

Seriously, what do you think made UT a great job 20 years ago? I'm curious. Other than a big stadium, do they have any competitive advantages vs UGA, UF, etc? Did they just catch lightning in a bottle, or did they cheat and not get caught, or???
  15. First Driving Lesson

I witnessed one just a few minutes ago as I was walking around our neighborhood. An SUV pulled to a stop and a HS aged boy and his Dad opened the doors and swapped sides of the vehicle with the kid climbing in on the driver's side. In my mind I thought "first driving lesson". I was 50 yards...
  16. Dedrick Mills Reflects

As our old school HR manager used to say... "We're not firing him, he fired himself." IOW, he got the results he knew his decisions would produce.
  17. Dan Patrick report

Unless someone comes forward with a cancelled check with Kirby's name on it, this is likely to go away. The NCAA doesn't have subpoena powers, so all you, your toadies, and the kids/families/coaches involved have to do is deny/stonewall. "I see 3 bodies stuffed in your closet and you're holding...
  18. Good news

How does that point, which nobody has raised until this post by you, relate to anything to do with QB accuracy, which was the departure point for this offshoot of the thread?
  19. Good news

Never heard that anyone changed JH's mechanics. As to the triple option, Fridge himself indicated they ran a lot of option, but NOT a traditional triple option. We generally faked the first read and ran a speed option - a double option, if you will.
  20. Good news

Name a QB who made a significant improvement in his mechanical ability to get the ball from point A to point B. Honestly, the list is VERY short. Your mechanics are established by the time you're recruited to college and are very difficult to change at that point. Look at professional golf...
