I thought the Pitt's lineplay on both sides of the ball was better, and better by more than the score indicated.
That they stopped us mano a mano on fourth down was evidence of that. Pitt was pretty bone-headed not to run the ball to close out the first half.
I thought we did a good job...
IMO both Searcy and Gray will be fine. Lynch is a baller but we knew that.
With A back we have more raw talent out there than I can recall under PJ. It needs to develop for sure, but the talent is there. If everyone gets their blocking down we have guys who can make big plays on the perimeter.
Disagree. Cerge-Henderson, Glanton, Simmons, Adams, and St Amour are all young guys who look like they are going to be good players.
DL is not a quick fix because physical development is huge. Experience and technique are important too. We have been recruiting better on the front 7 since Roof...
Option offenses are notoriously balky early in the season. Thusfar we have faced 4 pretty good or great defenses. The two most difficult defenses were strange games....BC out of the shoot at 7.30 am in Ireland and Clemson on a short week where they had a terrible FCS game before us and we had a...
In part that is due to the other team going conservative with a lead and running the ball more. But even in wins it seems our D starts slow then improves. Dont know what the answer is.
Pitt has a sr QB and an experienced OL. They are tough. Probably should have beat Okie St and Carolina on the road.
Can we beat 'em? Absolutely if we keep getting better and working hard. Gonna be tough though.
IMO recruiting had gotten better in the last two classes and this year's class so far looks like a continuation of the trend.
I think it's self evident when one looks at what some of these guys are doing already. Problem is these are second year, tr fr, or a HS sr players right now.
Thing is...
Wow AE you posted exactly what i thought too. I like how jmonty went about his business.
Paragraphs also sharpen the message. Great content though and hope jmonty posts more!
Main thing is 3 talented guys who bring different things to the table will be competing for the job. Whomever emerges should do a decent job for a first year guy.
Marshall's slippery as hell and appears to have enough arm strength. Accuracy, ball-handling/security, running the O are yet to be...
If I were to attack AE87's argument (crap 87 beat me to it!) I would not point out Vandy's overall record as a rebuttal to his citation of their defensive statistics. After all, the argument is about whether our scheme has been figured out by defenses.
A better argument would be : 'Yeah...
There is no question GT is a unique animal with a unique value proposition.
I am hard-pressed to imagine a candidate with a better understanding of GT than Stansbury. He may be just the guy to bridge the gap between the academic wing and athletics and create the type of institutional support...
I don't know if our kids focus on such things but I hope not. We just need to control what we can control and focus on ourselves. Take it as a complement that we apparently strike this much fear into the hearts of the enemy.
Defenses DEFINITELY figured out the offense in the first half of 2014. Then FORGOT how to figure it out in the second half of 2014.
But--with all new skill guys and a crapload of injuries for GT--they refigured out how to stop us in 2015. I mean look at what UNC and Pitt did to our offense last...
College football is an emotional game and it's not uncommon to see a proud team get smoked one game then circle the wagons and beat the next guys when everyone is kicking them around the gutter.
I like the match up of our D vs Miami's O in general. The are a pro-style team who likes to run to...
BC from all accounts SOLD OUT to stop GT. They had offensive starters running GT's offense in the Spring. They lined up in 4 different alignments against us. IMO they way over invested resources in stopping us and it's hurt them against the rest of their schedule. Fuentes is known as an...
Can't help but wonder if all the time BC spent preparing for GT using starters to simulate our offense, etc. Is bit8ng them in the arse. If preseas9n reports were true they spent a redunculous amount of time on us. Gave us like a million D looks.
VT's offense under fuente looks like it MIGHT be...
Philpott with reception from Marshall today in mop up. Marshall drilled it in there good but high and Philpott did a good job handling it. Nice to see him in a game.
