  1. 2017 Bowl Projections

Injuries too are huge, and we already have Marshall and Lynch--two of our best, most experienced players--out. Some luck with the injury bug, some good bounces and calls, and yeah I could see 9 or even 10 wins if the D can improve and the O plays as expected. But weird stuff can happen and some...
  2. Backs

Quaide definitely needs to run lower. However, he does have vision that Skov lacked. In the spring game I was surprised how well Quaide moved laterally in the trash. IMO if there is space there Quaide will find it. It's when there's NOT space there that Quaide concerns me....you have go in low...
  3. Backs

At BB I liked what I saw out of both Benson and Quaide. Both have been in the program awhile. Then you add Howard who is turning heads and seems likely to play. That's a lot of competition, so I feel good at BB. If the OL blocks they'll get theirs. At AB Lynch's injury is concerning but Searcy...
  4. Is it really true?

What is true is that option teams and coach johnson both historically have a higher winning percentage on the second half of seaons. Cant remember source article, read it many moons ago!
  5. Post Camp thoughts

If our DL is really a strength then it becomes much easier for LBs to do their jobs. In that case the LBs dont need to be exceptional, just solid.
  6. For This to be a Special Year

A bad arse edge rusher with Attaochu-like effectiveness would be pretty schweet to have.
  7. Why So Much Angst 2017 Version

No angst here. GT is always better with a chip on its should and it's fun to prove people wrong.
  8. Top 5 Looking for in camp

Ha, I most have done some poor writing because I intended my post to be about something else entirely: Some fonts earlier in the thread were puzzled over a need to simplify the checks in the secondary. While the problem had probably been dogging us all year, UNC completely destroyed our defense...
  9. Fall Camp Thread

Also in 7 on 7 drills the offense hasn't been mercilessly pounding you with a ground game and hounding you with big, physical receivers who then run by you on play action and mess with your good life. It's a play in a drill at the beginning of camp. It does show the fanbase concern with Thomas'...
  10. Coaches poll...greatest programs of all time

My Greatest Program of All Time is GT and I don't give two shirts what anybody else thinks!
  11. Top 5 Looking for in camp

My belief is that in today's game offenses go fast and use a ton of formations to run a more limited number of plays. This is confusing for a defense, and when offenses go fast, defenses get fatigued. It's harder to concentrate, communicate, and react to get into position. It makes defenders...
  12. Top 5 Looking for in camp

My Top 5: 1. PASS RUSH. Lack of pass rush has been the bane of our defense. Ranking 110th in sacks don't get it. 2. PUNTERS, KICKOFFs/KICKOFF COVERAGE, and FGs. Can the two new specialists be solid as tr-fr? Butker made covering kickoffs--something we've historically struggled with--a nonfactor...
