Having Gray and Mitchell back made a big difference for our defense IMO. That's a lot of experience, communication, and getting others lined up that we missed against UVA.

The wet field games came against teams with better defenses than did the dry field games. Not saying the conditions didn't hurt us....just pointing out that other factors may be responsible for the numbers.

On Marshall's last TD there was tremendous blocking, both by the OL and the skill guys. Searcy, Juene and Stewart all hustled downfield and made outstanding blocks to spring Taquon. Very nicely executed play by the offense.

I'd say we have been plenty relevant in the ACC. Only year we havent was 3-9. We compete hard, have been in the ACCCG twice and been to two orange bowls. In other years we have been competitive. Even in 3-9 we played hard.

This thread is an amazing example of the human tendency to ascribe causality to events which are completely random. Comments here are way worse than anything our team or coaches did on Saturday, IMO.
