Decision making is improving for sure. Think Weinke and Long are helping, as well as just accumulated experience. Has more consistent footwork.
Also think some receiving threats are emerging in McCollum and Blackburn.
Protection is still pretty iffy. Line needs to keep improving.
But yeah...
Ace did not look good early last year but as the year wore on he looked more and more comfortable with what we were doing and began to play a lot faster. I thought he'd have a chance to have a big year this year and so far so good.
After re-watching game it really seemed our offensive line, which had been winning in the trenches began to lose after Jordan and "Pierre" Quick went out.
Some of those running plays at the end were ones that had been working most of the game. Some of our late offensive failings were no doubt...
Simpler game planning in all three phases gave team the best chance to execute/play fast/play physically. Hope to see more of it against Duke.
Duke has been putting up points in first quarter. Will be a test. LB play was stellar vs Pitt. More pls.
If does well should be interviewed. See what his plans are for recruiting, ideas for getting team from here to there, etc, etc.
Right now just get team ready to play each week. Else this whole thread is moot.
More attractive now. If someone can come in and keep OL from transferring out and guys in general from transferring we'll have more experienced and mature guys in the trenches.
We went into the season with an OL that was seriously green/lacking game snaps. That's a huge handicap. I have been hoping that as the season goes on and they get experience they get better and better.
When the OL swarmed Hall and pushed the pile 7-8 yards to get the first down that was an...
Don't know enough about Deion as a coach to know if he'd be good for GT.
FWIW, what I do recall reading about is folks in the Braves organization saying Deion's flashy style hides an incredibly hard-working individual. Work ethic as well as competitiveness are important in a coach. So there's that.
All I wrote was this:
Note use of indefinite indicators "May" and "Then again it might" (refers to Duke game being a pushover).
The fact is none of us know, and I feel sure my post made this clear. Someone else brought up Nebraska. Whatever, am suspecting trolling and not worth any more response.
So too with FSU. Maybe LSU isn't good this year but a win over LSU still looks good. And their D line so far has looked stout. So it's too early to tell. But like Duke they haven't looked crappy so far.
Spread seems reasonable based on our OL and play to date. My heart wants us to take a big step forward and beat these guys but my brain says it's not likely. But you never know when a team might put it all together. Really hoping it's this Sat at BDS!
I guess you got from my post that I said Duke is good and definitely will be a tough game for us.
So to clarify/restate it might be tougher or it might not. 30-0 vs Temple and road win vs Northwestern are good optics for Duke though. Beats looking sucky and being 0-2, but may be fairly meaningless.
McDuffie's stats were pedestrian, however there were three runs I recall where nothing was there but he made cuts at the LOS and redirected to gain positive yards in important situations to move sticks/score.
Concerned that there was nothing there however.
Wes Walker's position coaches at GT are gone as well as Pruitt being gone. Could explain Gibbs saying GT and Bama culture are the same (i.e. depends on who is coaching you).
Not a great showing overall. Holding Clemson to a FG after 1 of the blocked punts would have made a statement. Depth is clearly an issue. With a struggling O line depth will continue to be tested. They couldn't find a way after Charlie went out. D played well for about 2.5 quarters.
Then our...
