He hasn’t been the same since his Achilles tear. I saw him in a few practices during fall practices before the season. His throwing just wasn’t good and for being a running QB, his running reads weren’t that much better either. Just a low risk with potential type of transfer.
I’m very curious about who Key could hire as assistants if he was to become to HC. He has TONS of connections and is well liked around the CFB industry. Jeremy Pruitt as DC would be a great hire and makes some sense for Pruitt
I know people at tech due to going to the school and meeting people through clubs and events. I hear things from time to time and post them to give a sense of where things are.
I agree but winning cures all. Tech doesn’t have many fans interested right now any way so winning is about the only way to fix that. Only a Deion Sanders type name would generate fans before winning started.
49-26 at UAB is pretty damn good with 2 conference titles and being in a state with Alabama and Auburn. Especially considering he had to restart an entire football program with no players or no roster. Mike Houston has built up programs and fixed them. He walked into an absolute mess at ECU.
Korn will either follow Chadwell to a P5 job or take the HC job if offered at Coastal once Chadwell leaves. I don’t believe he jumps away from Chadwell.
I keep hearing Chadwell would most likely bring his whole staff. I think his OC Willy Korn could stay back at CCU to be their new HC. Korn is who you really want to come with Chadwell. His defensive staff is the concern for me, I think you need to give him the money to hire a top notch defensive...
I think J batt has a #1 candidate he’s circled as his man. I’m not super sure who it is but I’ll try and guess based off what I’ve heard.
1: Jamey Chadwell
2: Bill Clark, pretty close to Chadwell
3. Mike Houston
Some info I’ve heard or haven’t heard for each candidate.
Todd Monken: Haven’t heard anything on him at all.
Dell McGee: The talk on McGee has taken a fall, HS coaches and trainers created the early buzz and still are pushing for him but haven’t heard anything on tech having interest. He would...
Mullen didn’t have a problem with recruiting. It was a quote that was overblown and taken out of context. He had a problem with a reporter wanting to talk about recruiting during the middle of the season and with it being a game week. The media took his answer to that and overblew it big time.
