The problem is, his group told tech/the search firm that he wants to call plays, he’s going to be fired from his job that has him calling plays.

Is there any college football head coach who has been a nfl gm before? BOB was only at Penn state for 2 years but yes he had success there. There’s a reason why he’s going to get fired at bama and a reason for him never being an option for tech that made it far in the process.

Being an NFL GM is having to manage a roster, a college HC is also having to manage a roster with taking commitments, the portal, sending out offers, dropping commits, etc. Theres a similarity there since both require managing a roster.

That part is true yes. I just have no clue on who could be a OC candidate. I’ve heard DC candidates if Key was to get the job but not OC candidates.

Godsey isn’t that big on coming back to college. He turned the job down last year and is happy being in the NFL. I don’t believe he would recruit well either.

Long isn’t a bad OC. He has a proven track record

Hire key, keep long, upgrade the WR coach spot, hire a RB coach with connections in the south, hire a OL coach. That’s what I would do.

Brent key knows people everywhere across the country. He is very well respected across the CFB coaching industry due to his time at UCF and Bama. He has plenty of connections to build a staff. Names I’ve heard that could get a call from key if he got the job and decided to move on from Thacker...

I think it’s pretty obvious to realize how bad BOB is. Even the bama fan base that loves their cousins see how bad he is.

Brent key will be in strong consideration for the UAB job if he is not the choice for tech.

I’ve been told of some rumblings that a “soft agreement” with a new HC has been made. I’m not sure how legit it is and if it makes any sense but that’s what I’ve heard from some people connected to tech/coaching agents.
