  3. Georgia Tech Set to Pay Temple $2.5 Million for Coach Collins Buyout

  5. DC Andrew Thacker’s background from NE Georgia...

Yes. Not “officially” announced as yet, but he’s coming. Here is Thacker’s current bio from the Temple Owls’ website. Of note, Thacker served as linebackers coach at Kennesaw State under head coach Brian Bohannon in 2016. He was also the safeties coach for head coach George O’Leary at UCF in...
  6. DC Andrew Thacker’s background from NE Georgia...

Up around these parts in northeast Georgia where I live, high school football fans and folks in the know around here are very impressed by Andrew Thacker. For your information, my fellow GT fans, here’s an excellent article about him that was published by a local newspaper back in 2013...

  10. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Good post. I agree. I’m also not sure if CGC’s tweeting, Facebook, and other social media “branding and marketing” methods would, in fact, succeed alone in recruiting more top talent to GT. At least, to me, not without the foundation of a strong funding and staffing base for an enhanced GT...
  11. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

I agree. Current GT dual-threat quarterback Lucas Johnson, for example, is from San Diego, California. We definitely need to strengthen our recruiting efforts nationwide, to bring in more talent like him. By the way, if Lucas completely heals from his surgery sometime over the coming spring and...

‘Ol PJ did just fine, considering it was his first time in that format.
  13. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Hahahahaha Boy. That is true. And it’s all the more amazing that CPJ won the number of games he did over the past 11 years while riding this damn GT Huffy. Amazing. Just amazing. What a coach, and what a man.
  14. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

That is interesting! It makes sense to me. Thank you for posting.
  15. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Yes. And certainly, a much greater and expanded recruiting staff can find—and offer, and land—a greater number of top-notch high school football recruits to Georgia Tech. Yes, they are out there.
  16. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Wow! I had no knowledge about this. Now I believe we need to expand the recruiting staff to 20! Or more...
  17. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

That’s interesting. Could you please provide some links to these new social media accounts so we can read them here?
  18. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Thank you! I was not aware of it! I just missed reading all about it. Clearly, there is a great need, in my opinion, to expand this recruiting staff from 8 to at least 10, and fully fund it on an annual basis thereafter.
  19. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

I googled it and found it: the AJC published an article about it last January. It was $300,000. Here it is: https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/georgia-tech-fund-raising-goal-for-recruiting-staff-nearly-met/gqy0S1hsX6vjVEKAJIQJrK/
  20. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

RonJohn, I just re-read your reply, and you mention that money was raised (separately from the current $125 million fund-raising effort) for additional recruiting staff from 4 to 8, for only two years. How much money was raised in total for this two-year expansion of the recruiting staff?
