  1. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Thank you, RonJohn. I was not aware that the $125 million fund-raising program included money for hiring additional recruiting staff. I thought it was primarily for the replacement of the current Edge athletic building. Yes, you are correct in that I started this thread with the title “Branding...
  2. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Jojakt is absolutely correct. This is a strength for Georgia Tech, and it needs to be a major focus of its pitch to prospective high school football recruits. I believe this focus on academics has been emphasized in GT’s recruiting efforts for many years in the past, including the last 11...

‘Ol Dabo wouldn’t want Collins to out-Dabo him. LOL
  4. Chances Tech reaches the pinnacle?

I stand corrected. The All American Bowl game between GT and Michigan State was played on Dec. 31, 1985. Thank you for correcting me.
  5. Chances Tech reaches the pinnacle?

Yes, I remember that game! I was at Grant Field for that one, the 34-0 upset of the Gamecocks. Ralph Friedgen was GT’s offensive coordinator then. He game-planned a masterpiece!
  6. Chances Tech reaches the pinnacle?

Yes. I’m sure MikeJacket1967 simply forgot about Rampley. As I recall, GT starting QB John Dewberry was suspended before the All American Bowl for a violation of team rules, and backup QB Todd Rampley engineered the Jackets to win 17-14 in his first career start at QB.
  7. Chances Tech reaches the pinnacle?

Uhhhhb, nope. That was Todd Rampley. And the game was played on January 2, 1986.
  8. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Funny. My closet has a good number of white GT shirts, as well as a nice gold GT jacket. They all were made by Russell.
  9. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

OK, let’s go pay WalMart $5 million to stock their stores with GT shirts and caps, and let them sell ‘em for 99 cents apiece. They’ll be so dirt cheep that many, many po’ folks will snap ‘em up! Under this contract, WalMart will gain a huge profit margin of approximately $4.995 million. And...

One more important point: Under my IPTHAY proposal, any GT sidewalk fan can become a valued GT IPTHAY Club member at a membership fee of only $25 a month. And it will count as points toward the purchase of season tickets.
  11. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Hahahahaha Gotta raise the money to implement the plan, though. A Georgia Tech IPTHAY (I Pay Three Hundred A Year) program can achieve it. Under an IPTHAY fund-raising program, it will only take 1,667 GT non-alumni fans (i.e., sidewalk fans) to achieve this goal on an annual basis.
  12. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

I’m talking about real, meaningful, and concrete internal organizational change. Commit. Plan. Strategize. Implement. And then maintain by repeating the above process, over and over, for continuous excellence.
  13. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Exactly. Create the brand by winning first, and then maintaining it. Which is the way I suggested (and recommended) it in my organizational Goals, Objectives and Strategies post articulated earlier above. I’m not talking about social media gimmicks and fluff.
  14. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Hello? Anyone interested in Goals, Objectives and Strategies as I described them previously? I’m not talking about mascots, the car, the colors, the outside perceptions. I’m talking about real goals, objectives, and strategies to accomplish the “brand” we want: a nationally renowned college...
  15. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

TStan needs concrete and achievable goals, objectives, and strategies to accomplish the desired results (i.e., the “brand”). The “brand,” to me, is the Goal I tried to articulate in my previous post above.
  16. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

Let’s try this tack: Goals, Objectives, and Strategies Goal: Make Georgia Tech a nationally known and respected Division 1 college football power that annually contends for ACC and CFP championships. Objective 1: Recruit, on a consistent annual basis, the top high school football players in...
  17. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

I remember former AD Homer Rice’s “Total Person Concept.” As far as I know, it’s still in use at GT, isn’t it?
  18. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...

    I don’t know. Probably not. They’re slogans.
  19. “Branding” and “Marketing” ...
