  1. Getting Closer . . .

I want to see the A backs and WR blocking as well as they were toward the end of the season. Good runners get extra yards. Good blocks give them that opportunity. Football is all about blocking and tackling. If you don't do that well you will not have a superior team.
  2. ESPN: KeShun Freeman's resilient little brother is his inspiration

His Dad has to be an amazing person. He encouraged his Mom to take on that tough task and has stood by through the hardships. What an amazing example of being a parent and husband that God wants us to be. What an amazing story. I could not do that and especially volunteer. GT22 I choked up...
  3. Notre Dame Starting Nose Tackle Injured, Rumored Out for Season

I always hate to see a season ending injury to any player. I wonder how Kelly sounded in press interview. Opposite of CPJ he is verbose to the press. They don't have ask him question upon question to get something out of him.
  4. Give me a break, Paul

If he only played 7 games I would guess so.

How well known is the Clint Castleberry story? I don't recall hearing it when I was at Tech. But I was married with 2 kids and studying EE so didn't do much outside of the Library and football Saturdays.

I am sure this is TIC because I don't see CPJ with that kind of ego. He is intense, driven, and confident. He is making enough money he doesn't have to worry about what voters think. He is a hard working dedicated coach that we need to be thankful we have. Except for being in the top 20...
  10. GT Special Teams Versus MSU

IDR any lost fumbles on KO or punts. Am I wrong? Snoddy almost cost us a safety. I think the comments about having an offense that can move the ball plays into return strategy of not being as aggressive and make sure we get the ball back. Also I don't know how many block in the backs we got...
  11. What's your prediction for the season?

That is not wearing rose colored glasses IMHO. To go undefeated is not easy and chances are we will lose 2 or 3 maybe more but we can play with anybody. We have a great group of talented guys that play team football and a leader in JT5 that has the drive and intensity that permeates the team...
  12. Give me a break, Paul

You don't get better in practice without going full speed. Need live tackling and blocking drills. CPJ has a lot Bear Bryant in his demeanor as for as practice is concerned. Practice is tough. Games become a piece of cake. Need to watch fatigue during practice since that increase chances...
  13. Padded Cover on Clemson Helmet??

    Interesting research.
  14. Padded Cover on Clemson Helmet??

This looks like a padded cover on the helmet. Anyone seen something like this before. Guessing it is to try and reduce injuries caused by helmets to the knee and head.

As maligned as our D was last year they still came up with timely plays to allow the O to pull it out, Pick 6 and White interception at 2 minute mark vs VT. The lateral vs GSU, at UGA, Clemson Pick 6 (two pick 6?). It is a team sport and we need both. If D had been better over all may not...

You don't have to be hit to get knee injury or worse. Clemson game last year. My knee popped out when setting my foot to lead interference under a punt return. Wasn't touched. Still remember opponent taunting me for being down and not being hit. That was in 1954 I don't recall anything being...

The Sept 19 game will tell us where we are for sure. We win and is no fluke then I see a playoff spot in the crystal ball. But I see the first two games being competitive enough to give good clue as how good we may or may not be.
  20. Matthew Jordan Practicing at AB

Playing other back positions and even receiver positions can help future QB understand the TO and its communication, interface, spacing, pitch timing, etc better. This IMO and might be a good question for CPJ. Also works the other way in that a QB moving to AB, BB and maybe WR makes them better...
