The question now is will they fire Norvell this season or not. F$U fired Willie Taggart before he coached 20 games and then tried to fight paying the full buyout.
GT it’s a lack of focus/energy/coaching. Miami isn’t that well coached neither is FSU. For all the people crushing Geoff, just know that if he had FSU or Miami talent we would win 8-9 every year. CGC has beaten both those schools and coaches the past few years with less talent. As for Clemson...
I get the Geoff hate but don’t put Gibbs on any option team dream scenario. Also, you have to remember attendance was falling under CPJ too. This loss sucks and Geoff hasn’t shown much to engender confidence moving forward but the only thing we can do is (1) donate to the GTAA to push for a...
I am a huge Collins supporter (still am) but that was unacceptable. Under no circumstances should we have lost this game. Hopefully, he takes full responsibility for it and doesn’t pass the buck
Money is the motive along with improved recruiting since both OU and texas look at Missouri and Texas A&M whose recruiting improved after joining the conference. However, OU is at risk of going the Nebraska, Missouri, or Miami route after joining the SEC. Perennially dominating a conference to...
You hit the nail on the head. We don’t collectively buy tickets, merchandise, or donate enough. A lot of that is our fan base is smaller. What’s crazy to me is that our alumni has a lot of wealth but not many care to donate or buy tickets for athletics.
I thought the same thing and then realized it’s called greed my friend. Also, Texas probably thinks A&M surpassed them in football standing due to improved recruiting after joining the SEC. For what’s it worth, Texas struggles with development
Actually, Stewart Mandel (theAthletic) wrote an article about this like a year ago. The idea is pooling your rights like the NFL would increase the bidding and you have content for your streaming platform and channels. If you are already in bed with ESPN, then you give them the option for more...
Exactly! There’s a zero percent chance we would get cut from the ACC literally no chance of that happening. Heck, it might be beneficial for us if it did since it would get us out of this crappy ACC tv contract and grant of rights.
We didn’t get the better bowls because we didn’t draw eyeballs while running the TO. We had back to back to back nationally televised games last fall (FSU, UCF, and Clemson) and drew strong ratings nationally and locally. The Clemson ratings were the worst for obvious reasons :(
The big 12 number is bolstered because it’s only 10 schools rather than 12. Espn and fox did them a solid and didn’t cut their payout when they lost texas A&M and mizzou
College football is no longer an amateur sport and it’s been that way for awhile. The schools made this choice with the outrageous spending and seeking of massive tv contracts. You realize Kirby makes more than Arthur smith the coach of the officially designated pro team in this state?
