CPJ was doing everything he can to avoid a QB controversy conversation in the weekly presser... Truth is the backup QB has more rushing TD's, more rushing yards, more YPC, and scores a TD on 65% of his drives.. It's just hard to not see what the guy can do.
Also said they didn't run any QB...
You would think that while CPJ is an offensive guru, he would just hire a great DC and let him have total control of a defensive unit that can be good. CPJ doesn't have to care about defense for it to be good. Washington State has made big strides on defense despite Leach not giving a damn about it.
Next year is make or break for Nate Woody... They've done well with turnovers but they still can't stop anyone unless they take the ball away.
It's really unfortunate because everyone wants to blame the offense, but the offense clearly isn't a problem... its the defense.
This won't be popular here, but Duke had pretty cool uniforms.
And of course, the Air Force alternate unis are good. Some of their altnerate uniforms honor certain military aircraft. This one is for the AC-130 gunship.
USA Today as Georgia Tech in the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa Bay playing a Conference USA team or American League team. Would probably be LA Tech, UAB, Florida International, or Marshall if Conference USA.
TO = triple option
Tobi = Tobias Oliver
Olly = Tobias Oliver
Tobias Oliver = Tobias Oliver
Oliver = Tobias Oliver
Tobias = Tobias Oliver
QB1 = Tobias Oliver
How to control the clock better? Just take the air out of the ball? let it get down to 2 seconds before snapping the ball every play? I think Army did that a few years ago when Monken first got there.
Interesting to compare a team on the other side of the offensive spectrum. They rank next to last nationally in rushing offense, and Georgia Tech ranks 1st nationally. They rank #1 nationally in passing offense, and Georgia Tech ranks 128th out of 130th.
Hopefully Tech puts 60 on North Carolina...
Lucas came to Georgia Tech because he ran that offense in high school...
Mount Carmel coach John Anderson on Johnson’s flexibility and range as a quarterback:
“He came up as a freshman and incidentally he ran the same offense that Georgia Tech runs, primarily with the flexbone. We ran the...
They scored every possession with TO against South Florida....
Did Bowling Green get a stop with TO running the offense?
Louisville didn't get a stop...
Don't know how many possessions GTECH had against Virginia Tech, but they punted twice.
I wonder what that overall percentage is for Tobias...
Bad decision... No value to the team or program in having TQM start. TQM is a senior, on his way out, and hasn't shown that he produces better results than Oliver. In fact, it's the opposite.
Oliver is a freshman, part of the future of the program, and produces better results.
Wow, fantastic answers... Thank you.
Ok, so that play works because it's a favorable numbers matchup and the defense has 1-2 players essentially out of the play, and they can't overload because they have to account for the option or risk a huge play.
Sounds like the perfect play.
Going to be a few good debates this offseason about Oliver for Lucas Johnson. Best running ability vs best passing ability. Oliver 6'2'' and Lucas is 6'3''... Very good future with these guys.
1.) The play that G-Tech runs over and over that Virginia Tech and South Florida can't seem to stop, that only Oliver seems to run. Snaps the ball, no intent of pitching, finds a crease and gets anywhere from 3-4 to 20+ yards on... Is that a QB sweep? Or is that the Triple Option and Oliver just...
