    Gameday!!!!!!

The defense is just so bad... Damn shame too because if Tech rushes for 900 yards and scores 64 points people will claim GTech sucks because CPJ runs the option.

God, i love the option. I just do. This is being executed to crispy perfection tonight.

    That is pretty insane.

Louisville isn't good... Tech really needs to win this one.

    Being an Alabama fan....

Man, they have some total snoozer football games. It really just highlights how insanely good they are. But at some of these games I wonder if it sucks for the fans to be up 40-0 at halftime for half of your games. I've been to games like that and people just leave early. Not sure if they do...

SI article about triple option football

Willie Fritz is a great coach... if you bring him in with Bob DeBesse, they would innovate the current option scheme and make it more palatable to recruits and fans. Good article, by the way.

Georgia Tech vs. Louisville Predictions #GTvsLOU

They have the 83rd ranked rush defense and give up over 4 yards per carry... They also had less time to prepare for the option with it being on Friday. 38-17 good guys.

    Paul Johnson time frame.

I am saying the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and Georgia Tech has very good football coach. The Nebraska example is relevant because they fired Frank Solich, who was a good football coach, thinking they could bring in someone else and immediately start winning more. More than...

    Paul Johnson time frame.

I will take a shot at this... 1.) I agree with you on this one, which is why he needs to modernize a little and go with the shotgun version. On that note, the new coach at Georgia Southern, Bob Debesse, would be a very nice hire for offensive coordinator. His option offense is modeled out of...

    Paul Johnson time frame.

Posted this in another thread, but it really belongs on this thread. CPJ has been coach of the year what, 4-7 times in his career? His offense that you hate so much put 63 on Bowling Green, 50 on South Florida... in years past its put 56 on NC State, 49 on Mississippi State, 56 on Pittsburgh...

Interesting NCAA stats, updated for 10/1

Correct... and Army is top 10 in 3rd down conversions. Makes you wonder what the average 3rd down distance is for Georgia Tech this year.

    Carpenter (nothing to worry about)

I asked the question, and am happy with the answer. Looks like most schools running the 3-4 have gigantic linebackers. Those look like NFL sized players. 6'4'' 255? Are you kidding me? 6'3'' 266? Can Georgia Tech even recruit guys like that at linebacker?

Interesting NCAA stats, updated for 10/1

On the surface.... the rest of this year and next they need to address: Kickoff return coverage 3rd Down Defense Be #1 in yards per completion in the pass game Create more opportunities for what appears to be a productive offense through special teams and defense. 3rd down defense is probably...

Georgia Tech Total Passing #124 of 130 in passing offense, at 102 yards per game. Notable teams within 20 rankings of Georgia Tech: Rutgers, Minnesota, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Illinois. Pretty ridiculous comments... CPJ has been coach of the year what, 4-7 times in his career? What other P5 schools currently run a 3-4 defense? How big are their LBs?

    Carpenter (nothing to worry about)

You almost wish Carpenter and Oliver both played linebacker in the 3-4 set. Would go from a slow unit to a VERY fast and athletic unit. But then of course you take a hit at safety. Linebackers next year in the 3-4 set: Tariq Carpenter (6'2'' 220) Kaleb Oliver (6'4'' 205) Bruce Jordan-Swilling...

    Bowling Green Postgame

Also... been lots of discussion about scheduling in other threads this year, and I think this game puts that logic on display. Start every season with 3 games like this at home, and start 3-0 every year... Get everyone into a groove, get your positions settled, correct mistakes, and get ready...
